I think it's easy to focus on the players and not our club. Perhaps it's the case that the club told Reggie to head out on loan for a year to get his mojo back after a year of hellish injuries. He did that and performed well for both Utd and Brentford and came back only to be treated like crap when he returned.
It reminds me of a passage in Lloris's book where Levy tries to get Hugo to say a fond farewell to the Spurs fans in our last home game. Hugo politely reminded him he a year left on his contract. Then on deadline day Llloris is sitting in a restaurant with his family whilst we're all seeing on SSN that he is headed to Saudi Sportswashing Machine to sit on their bench. As we know, Hugo is then ostracised, which massively impacted his mental health based on what he has opened up about recently. It's why I don't fully buy all that crap Ange comes out with being a philosopher and a life coach and talking about life lessons and his old man. This happened on his watch, in his playing squad.
This Reggie thing sounds like another example of where our beloved club has treated a model pro disrespectfully. If Reggie is pushing back, we probably deserve it. I personally think we have shot ourselves in the foot. We have a perfectly adequate backup LB who offers the maturity of a player in his late twenties around a bunch of kids. We could be utilising him whilst we find him a new home amicably and find a better player. We do actually need better than Davies and Reggie.
It's a ruthless industry, but our club always seems to have an implied cultural problem with personnel issues under Levy's stewardship. None of this probably makes us any different from other clubs though. lol - they're all horrible.
