I was forced to watch last nights game vs CSKA, and I have to say it's one of the must turgid games I have ever seen! That CSKA team was terrible, and Uniteds play is just so slow and boring, it's more fun watching paint dry! They are unbelievable bad, and I cannot fathom how they are above us in the league! Yesterday they had one player that actually looked decent, and went forward instead of sideways and backwards, and that was Jesse Lindgard. The rest were utter brick!
Well, my United-fan friends were pulling out their hair in despair, but as they said "at lest we scored a goal and actually created a couple of chances. Improvement, albeit a very tiny one."Interesting. Only saw the highlights, but thought United created quite a few chances based on that and the (Norwegian) pundits were falling over themselves praising LvG for keeping Rooney on the pitch when he ended up scoring...
Good to hear that they're still struggling. Hopefully Rooney getting a goal is just one of those things that happens and he will continue to get plenty of game time and struggle...
The "zzzzzzzz, I'm falling asleep football factor", you mean?AVB vs LVG: discuss...
you can play pretty football, you can play boring football, you can hoof it long, or you can pass pass pass, no philosophy is any more valid than any other, yes it's entertainment to the paying customers in the stand, but it's business to everybody else and results are ultimately all that matter
there is nothing stopping those united fans going to watch city instead if all they are worried about is aesthetics
this pervasive attitude in football fandom that we are entitled to a certain product tinklees me right off, I have a friend who is a charlton fan (a small club in south London) who is attending a protest today against a chairman who invested 22m to keep the club going and kept them in the championship (a lower league in England) last season, a quick glance at the all time league table shows charlton are historically the 67th placed club in the English league, yet the current fan base is complaining because they are "only" 30 places higher than they should be, and, that they are worried at the long term ambitions of the club, which to my mind shouldn't be any a longer list than, stay solvent
the game got greedy with its 3 wishes, the genie isn't going back into the bottle
Not sure what money in the game has to do with attractive football? yes, everyone has ******* fans ... no surprise there.
However, if Manure, City & Cheat$ki, i.e. the sides that have spent over a BILLION+ pounds in the last 5-6 years can't play attractive football, who can? when do you?
I still say we dodged a massive bullet with Van Hippo Head ... spent money like a lotto winner in a brothel and has creative a slow, unimaginative, possession based team ...

my point is, you don't have to, you hire a manager based on his ability to get results, how you get those results is irrelevant to the ownership, it's only an issue to the fans, as long as it's a minority's of fans it doesn't matter
I don't believe that in a fan base the number of people who care about method will outnumber those who care about results
In an era of depression re the state of the game, that is one of the most depressing statements I have ever heard ...
