Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

still feels like we're in purgatory. If Conte is staying fine, sign da ting then. But if he's going in Summer, or not committing, i worry we're wasting 6mths for a new manager to find out who they want and who they dont.

Signing another Wing Back also a concern if the next manager doesn't play that method

A lot of uncertainty right now. Conte, Paratici, Kane.

As always what goes on behind closed doors is what matters most. But I think there needs to be a decision at some point in the next months.

On transfers, for me it's on Paratici to future proof the squad. When we've spent real money after Conte came in it's mostly on players that I think could do well in different systems.

If we end up getting Porro I can only assume it's because either Conte is very likely to stay or Paratici thinks Porro will be good in different systems as well.

I think you always have to look at things from all sides.

Personally I'd of given Poch the rest of that season BUT it c.ould of easily of been the wrong decision. I went to that Brighton game, and although one game should never dictate a football clubs direction, it really felt like the music died that day. It was the saddest I'd ever left a game, as the break up was real.

I would have let him carry on and Poch himself would have, your heart rules your head and gut sometimes.

It would (will) be interesting to hear from the man himself (probably via Brave New New World) as the man is honest and a realist, it wouldn't surprise me if he admits he needed a break, and given his undying affection and love for us, it doesn't appear he was scarred or resentful.

He'll be back anyway....so we'll all get to do it again.

Spot on imo.

Would he be willing to come back under Levy if he felt the decision to sack him was clearly a wrong move?

he’s waiting for it, he must have been offered loads of jobs since leaving PSG

Hmm, not sure about that actually. He did a lot of media work on TV and Radio (i think TalkSport?) and i think that might have been him sort of saying to the football world "Hi, i'm still around and available, don't forget about me.."

That team was getting relegated, watch that Brighton game again, they couldn’t lose it quick enough, they were all terrified of being on a football pitch.

Clearly wasn’t his fault, but the boot was needed to reset the team.
That was the game where Lloris was stretchered off with a horrific arm break after 5mins. He was screaming in the goal after falling badly on his arm? Brighton then scored quickly? While our players were visibly shocked? I think it is fair to say there were may be mitigating circumstances as to why the performance was so poor that day.

So are Levy and Jol. The latter spoke about his affection for Spurs and his relationship with Levy in several interviews after his sacking. But the sacking itself was handled badly.

So poch and jol accept why they were sacked? Just some fans don't?

Completely agree with you re that Brighton game. I seriously felt we could be relegated on the back of that performance, I was that worried.

My logic on Poch is that he’s awesome and near the top of everyone’s list, therefore every club that has had a vacancy in the last 6 months offered AVB, then him, the job, before even thinking about anybody else.

Yup, for me the handling of the Jol sacking is the one big black mark against Levy.

He straight up said he had unfinished business here and believed, with all his heart and soul, that he would be back one day.

He gets us, and, along with Jol, is the only man I know would pick up our calls even if he were managing Madrid and we were bottom of the PL. So yes, I think he'd come back, Levy or not.

AVB?…. What’s the vacancy for?… Head sleep inducer?
