Good point. I didn't mean to generalise. Just that we know Conte wants short term players that are ready made for his system. I'm not saying he doesn't improve players, all good coaches should. Just that we didn't bring him in to say look we have Tanganga and Gil etc. We want you to change your system and get the best out of these players etc. It doesn't mean he won't try to improve all squad members, just that he is focused on the here and now, trying to get players that suit his style and can get results asap

There's only one person that would have any influence on Lewis that could in anyway harm Levy and that is Joe's daughter.

This, fans really amaze me, anybody really think Joe/his family/investors are going to look at the guy who turned that initial investment (it's less than £55M btw) into something north of £3B and say "hey, you gotta go because some guys on the internet are mad" ...

That's why Conte can't commit. Not sure that's quite the argument but even if it is, that and "improving players" aren't mutually exclusive.

It's all a bit depressing.

I'm not a fan of Conte ball but I am in favour of getting in the players he wants to actually try and inplement it properly. He's not a coach that will improve the individuals like Poch, That's not what he was brought in for. It was supposed to be a Conte Revolution, a realisation from those within that we need to start doing things differently, that we bring in a world class manager and actually back him in what he wants, to bridge the gap and take us forward, stop repeating the patterns of the past.

How old was kulu or ndogie. Eriksen and even perisic didn't slot straight into contes inter team, they took time (and even a loan) to adapt. Doesn't mean they can't be important players.

Tbf once a player gets in his 20s improvement is most likely to come from experience. You're not teaching them how to kick a ball.
