Antonin Kinsky

But it’s his shirt right now. Are you saying that once Vic is back in the next couple of months Kinsky should be no.2? Or are you talking more broadly that he would be ok as no.2 generally?

It's not his shirt on the back of 1 game. If Vic takes another couple of months to get back, he (Kinsky) will have an opportunity to make his case (he's the #1 in Vic's absence).

My expectation is barring Kinsky being miraculous in the interim, Vic will still be seen as #1 and Kinsky will probably be ok with that.

He's been brought in as competition for #1 spot, something Forster/Austin never were.

Vic is a very good keeper and likely will see the competition as something to push him and both of them.

3 Cup competitions, and especially number of games in Europa means there is room for 2 proper keepers. I'd suspect Kinsky would be ok with being #2 and getting cup games for a year or two, if in two years we want to sell Vic and look at the progress of Keeley/Gunter, that might be a thing.
If he proves to be as good a shot stopper as Vic then he should be no1 as he looks better in every other department already. Of course it's only one match but we should be able to see in the next few weeks if that is his real standard.

Bigger picture is this now gives us time for Vicario to actually recover correctly and fully instead of having to throw him in prematurely

Im interested in seeing what he makes of Arsenal’s corners. If he thrives with those too then wow that truly would be next level.
For sure there are different tests for him to face. Corners and being crowded being a big one. But also consistency over time, dealing with having made mistakes. Still quite a bit to prove with regards to shot stopping and handling over time.

But so far so very good.
