Antonin Kinsky

I've seen a few people mention that particular incident as an issue despite it literally being called a foul by the ref, because it was a foul. Sometimes you've just got to shrug and wonder, our GK getting fouled isn't some kind of weakness, he's got 2 clean sheets in 2 games ffs what do people want?!
Maybe a goal or two given we’re struggling up top a bit.

Two games in and he looks a very good buy, early days i know but a VERY GOOD start from him.

Yep, tall and looks quite commanding in the box, unlike Vic. Less frantic than Vic as well, and a better pass on him. Still haven't really seen his shot stopping ability too much though, but he's saved what has come at him. Only the one dodgy moment with the long throw hitting the post, really.

he is a real leader and communicates well with the defence, commands the 6 yard box and plucks out anything from the air above it.
he should continue as our #1 as he seems to be able to engage well with the defence and is quick to come off his line fearlessly.

I think what I love about this signing is that Kinsky was going to join in June - Lange and Ange have both been quoted saying this. So here in one signing we've got:

He fits the culture of Angeball
Proper planning and succession work in place
Summer plan already taking shape
Backing for the manager beyond the end of this season
Backing for the manager in this season bringing the transfer forward
Decision being made for football reasons and not financial - this has cost us money early and possibly more than originally planned to prise him away from Prague early
Awesome scouting - I'd never heard of him despite being an avid FM player, so he's a true scouting find
We did it with the minimum of fuss, no real press until it was a done deal.

This has calm, cool and collected rather than panic, freak out, whose available written all over it.

That is the Tottenham I want.

I think it’s more that we wanted to buy him in the summer but knew we would have more competition so we went early
Kinda Modric esque and also what we have down for Vuskovic

so nothing to do with the fact that we were in dire need of an extra keeper now due to injury and suitability of the rest of the keepers on the books?

Serious question - I'm not mocking.....

Oh that is why
But we also knew in the summer we had competition… big competition
We wouldn’t have got him then iMO as city would have been looking and can blow us out of the water
Others too
We have let Forsters contract run to the end of season too so actual planning

Seems to fit really well both for the future and for now. That's what Ange has said we want.

Which he also said about Bergvall, Gray and Odobert. Taken some months of course, but the Bergvall and Gray signings are looking better week by week and much more ready for this season than some feared (even though accurately described as not being ready for the first part of the season).

I'm guessing Odobert will end up fitting with that if he can get fully fit and sharp this season.

Also encouraging that it's backed from the very top, by Levy.
Seems him travelling to Prague on New Year's Day really helped swing the deal.

Lets hope so from what little i have seen of him he looks a different type of player then our other wingers, loves to take players on and seems to have both the skill and pace to do that.

New Year's Eve.
I wonder if Slavia needed the deal done in 2024 rather than 2025 for their finances? Or maybe just that another club were about to swoop if we didn't act immediately.

Napoli were apparently interested in a move to sign him in the summer.

They might have wanted that, but that would not matter, as the transfer window wasn't open anyway. No way to do the finances of that deal for 2024.
