Never in a million years. 4 other yellows? hmm I think Romero tackles must get judged differently to everyone else if that’s the case?It was a yellow
Looked clear to me
And he made 4 others too

Yeah 4, IMONever in a million years. 4 other yellows? hmm I think Romero tackles must get judged differently to everyone else if that’s the case?
Yes the budgets have changed, but as they say it's not the number, it's the relative value that counts. I could be wrong, but I don't think our real pulling power has gotten much stronger either, except if we get Poch there's a real chance he'd bring Mbappe with him because they're good friends and he likes lemons. Buy smart and be lucky, being able to severly outbid Brighton gets you nowhere. I fear we're not going back to a CL final anytime soon if we're buying players like Richarlison and Bentancur and not players like Jesus and Ødegaard (merely examples of somewhat like-for-like players). I don't think even Poch has what it takes to get back at where Poch was. We lack more than we did back then, and while a real playmaker could work wonders, I think we need much more than that to really compete like we did, which is what people would expect, no?I agree with the sentiment regarding tarnishing his legacy here but my major concern is more with how we get back to the level we were at - if we have ti risk tarnishing Pochettinos legacy to get there than so be it.
I'd have moved for Potter instead of Conte at the time we went for the latter tbh so I'm not entirely wedded to Poch, I'm just not aware of managers in the game to make a call on someone that can do what he did.
I disagree that not much has changed, budgets are far higher than when he was here last and Paratichi is a big improvement on Hitchen - that's the two biggest hurdles to his success removed afaic. On the playing side i think there's some shoots of positivity in the squad that is starting to take shape, though obviously we disagree on that.
A good ref wouldn’t have given him a yellow card for a perfectly good tackle.

Again, as long as the expectations are reasonable, I would love to see him back at the club. But he won't get neither the core, the time nor the budget to do so at the time being. That's the way I see it.
Players like Jesus and Odergard are available to us though and Richarlson was courted by both Arsenal & Chelsea but chose us, reportedly. Same as with Bissouma and Kulusevski (both Arsenal)
Difference is the teams that the respective players have gone in to are on different trajectories atm
I mean Arsenal are a shining example right now that a club on our level can build a top team over a number of years with smart buys in the market and putting their faith in a manager to build a team.
There have been good moments for sure, even Mourinho pulverized Man Utd without us looking like a great team for most of the season. And I was firmly in the Conte camp when he arrived, and don't doubt his managerial abilities whatever they may be in reality. I can only judge by what I see on the pitch, I don't know anyone inside the club or it's inner workings. And what I see is not a positive, motivated team on their way up, injuries or not.Did you enjoy it second half of last season when we smashed multiple teams 4-0 and 5-0 etc?
Amazingly that was when there was no extended injury crisis effecting one position and no insane schedule caused by the corrupt world cup and our audacity to qualify for the CL last season.
The insane schedule that makes the situation a par for every other team?
10 games in a row going behind, meaning 8 of those were before that WC.
This patchy form has been more than injuries and WC, come on now
Ødegaard annoys me, an immense talent (that the entire world knew about) and had languished for years doing nothing in particular and for a reasonable fee. Can't get a much Levy-ier target than that. And as we said when he went to Arsenal - exactly what we needed. An uglier version of Eriksen. He could hate Spurs for all I know, but I think I would have picked up on that.Players like Jesus and Odergard are available to us though and Richarlson was courted by both Arsenal & Chelsea but chose us, reportedly. The insane schedule has only been felt by the teams in the CL as it is those ones who have less room to rotate players, whereas the ones in the EL can afford to rest lots of their players.
The other CL teams also haven’t had the injuries we have had especially the freak situation of so many being out in one position.
We literally played every few days for something like 10 games in a row! Kane was forced to play 90 mins in all of them!
Have you people been living in a parallel universe or something!?
I don't get your point. Of course I like us to beat other teams and do it thoroughly. I liked Pochettino's team who also beat teams with regularity and played well. Until they didn't anymore, and something clearly was wrong. I think something is wrong now. Beyond injuries. What do you mean injuries or not?
The not was last season when we routinely bashed teams 4-0 and 5-0.
You are either being deliberately unfair at this point or have lost the plot somewhat.
What injuries have we had that others haven't that a freak and compound a certain area?
Most games we have been able to play a combination of....Son, Kane, Kulu or Richy bar today when we still had an option to play Perisic who plays the LF role for Croatia.
Other than that we have been fully stocked at LWB and RWB but he played Sess and Emerson to death regardless of performance pre WC.
PEH plays literally every game regardless of performance
At least two of the three available on defence have been available at all times in a combination of either Davies, Dier or Romero.
Can't see this freak injury pandemic
I think there is some truth to the testing circumstances that we face - and that we probably have to factor in that we are less-well equipped to suffer bumps in the road in comparison to other top sides, we're still very much a poor squad (comparatively) trying to improve and it's still relatively early days under the coach. Whether it's enough to fully explain away the poor form is up for debate

It has been bad Romero has missed loads of games, Bentancur has missed lots too, Kulu and Richy have both missed the most probably. With them two missing Lucas becomes a key player and guess what he has missed loads of games as well. Son has missed quite a few games. Due to all this Kane played 90 mins every few days for something like 10 plus games.
We are in the CL and due to that and the world cup we were playing PL and CL every few days for entire first half of the season once the CL began. When you are missing all these players and playing every few days (constantly) it takes its toll even more on those forced to play game after game.
None of this is groundbreaking revelations and frankly its beyond belief I have to spell this out to you and others.
You are either being deliberately disingenuous at this point or got absolutely tanked at the game today.

But….Also only City had their players feature in more minutes at the World cup than us.
injuries have clearly played their part in all this.
