When was the last time he managed to get through 90 minutes? When was the last time he had a top notch performance? It seems to have been getting steadily worse and worse over the last 18 months.

The problem with hip injuries is that they effect other parts of your body, knees, back & groin, perhaps surgery will be required

I thought the story was last summer and that he had decided to put it off till the end of his career because of the extended rehab it would need?

Similar to King and his replacement cartilages.
 
i dont think there is anything wrong with Dembele other than he is out of form

most of the time whenever he is substituted its because he is playing poorly.

he seems like a very laid back character, maybe he just doesnt have that hunger and drive to take that next step forward in his career and become a really top player

So presumably there are two unknown positions which would probably be Ade up front, and Lennon? You've got 15 players in your first team squad for 10 places. You don't think Paulinho might be a better option than Capoue? Or Sandro who's not had a pre season? Mind you Dembele was a main stay of our deep midfield last season couldn't he do the job? Would you loan Holtby? I guess Rose, Chiriches and Chadli have no part to play? And Townsend would simply come on off the bench? That is much clearer!

For me, I agree with the back line. Though Rose may get the nod when we need more pace and attack minded play against weaker teams, with Davies more of a solid defender.

There will be one defensive midfielder. But then they need a more creative player next to them. From Dembele, Sandro, Capoue, Paulinho its hard to pinpoint who will start. It depends on fitness and system. Then the front 4: Eriksen and Ade have to start, Lamela looks like he will demand a place, which leaves one place and again I have no idea who will take it. Lennon probably. But Townsend and Chadli could be better.

It will be fascinating to see how it shakes down.
 
I'd rather Shinji Kagawa from United.

Cheaper, less wages, just as good, Asian market exposure.

Mate told me this afternoon (down the pub) that a Whammer site was saying we are interested in Reid and Morrison as neither have agreed terms.

Didn't I read somewhere that Morrison was scared of having an op? I know that all operations can induce anxiety but there is something about it which seems silly. Unless we're missing some of the details, maybe he's scared as an op has gone wrong in the past? Etc

Apparently he has had a groin op during pre season.
