Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

We should all be happy with Ange comments tonight. All decisions being his own, players with fresh eyes knowing and saying it's a big club.

Brilliant interview and loads to take from it if you listen

Looks like someone who knows he's a football manager and has no ambition to be a media personality or stand any nonsense from anyone. We use to have a manager like that a long time ago.

Love the comments about just simplify it and trust in the system. Far easier to teach or not teach. They already know how to do it. Just need to stop overthinking it.

Reminds me of redknapp.

He reminds me of Burkinshaw. But I was just a kid then so I’m not sure.

Big part of what he has done is remove the toxic brick ...

I look at the impact Howe made at Saudi Sportswashing Machine partially just because the toxicity was gone and fans got behind the team.

This guy is here to do his best, not do us a fudging favor ..

In the space of a few games the massive gap between the players, the manager and the fans has gone
There was a real togetherness yesterday
The atmosphere was simply incredible from start to finish
Also, never seen so many staying to the very end to clap the players and Ange
We need that atmosphere in every game though not just the big games

I'm not. But it's not even 6 months since Conte had a meltdown in front of the world's media, saying our club was completely fudged. Now we have a proper manager, proper plan and system, and things are looking rosy again.

Conte was a fraud and a disgrace.
I was just thinking about Conte. He would be saying that Ten Hag is 2 years into his build whereas Spurs are 2 weeks in, so we must suffffferrrr and defend for 0-0

This is the thing, we need to invest, we need to improve, that said

- Building a toxic atmosphere hurts us, constantly have a dig at everything (and pulling fans into it), hurts us as a team and a club
- Playing young, promising players who will give you everything makes a difference (and who fudging cares if you signed them or not)
- Actually playing more than 2 in midfield
- Actually trying to keep the ball and give your opposition something to worry about instead of letting them have the ball and build confidence.

We will have bad days, but it's a huge step forward

And you are right, I've never seen so many people stay in their seat post final whistle

Have you factored in his personal life which can cause anyone to break down ... have you factored in the fact that he has managed teams set up to win with backing etc ... hes a fantastic coach that operates differently. A winner that has played at the very highest elite level playing under some magnificent coaches ... for you to make that assumption is very myopic due to his time and short period at a club that he was never suited to.

To be fair to Conte I don't think his issue with club signings was that he didn't sign them. I think it was more because he wasn't aware of them, because he hadn't picked them he had no trust in them or their game. He's risk averse so he couldn't play someone whom he didn't himself believe in.

Now we can say he should have been able to analyse the player once they were in his possession but that's not his style and never has been. That is where the criticism for the club comes in. You don't hire a Conte then try to foist club signings on him no matter how talented they are. It just simply won't work.

He plays 5 at the back and 2 in midfield it's what he does. It's what he always does. If you bring him in them be prepared to completely reshape your squad to fit his system and fast otherwise there will be a falling out as we saw.

Now to be completely clear I did not think hiring Conte was ever a good idea. So seeing the ultimate failure was just predictable for me.

Ange is totally different. He wants younger more mouldable talents. He needs players who want guidance. Good quality club signings work perfectly for as he's a coach who will attempt to improve the base level of his players as opposed to needing a supremely high base level in the first place.

We were brick before his personal issues. He’s as well known for throwing his toys out of his pram as he is winning things. A massive mistake of an appointment that Ange will wipe all memory of in good time.

Great start, but we’ve played 2 bang average teams we’ve beaten more often than not in recent years.

Bit early for the Conte bashing too, he finished 4th in season one, and had us there when he left.
