US AGAINST THE WORLD COYS

One thing that I think the deserve credit for is not reacting to Ange in the ground
All the noise, despite the results is focussed on the owners. That’s big change and IMO a positive

Didn’t Ange get into a stare-off yesterday with a fan voicing their opinions on his management? Lots of booing at the final whistle too.

We cant even get that.

As posted in the PL thread, its fine margins, but its like we are cursed while others get the rub

We are struggling, we need a break from somewhere yet hit the bar several times yesterday with no luck

United are struggling, huffing and puffing at Fulham, they take a long range shot, takes a wicked deflection and loops over the goalie into the net. Unreal...
And Southampton

If there are some fans who think we are finished all i can say is GROW A PAIR ;), I am probaby one of the few on here who has seen us relegated in the past but like a phoenix we flew again. I truly believe that we WILL NOT suffer that fate again this season.

To me it's a pretty cool time to represent and wear the colours.

Losing back to back games to fellow relegation candidates? Throw on the shirt and smile at anyone who looks at you funny / gives you a smirk, with a wild look in your eyes.

Being a Spura fan isn't something to be proud of just when we were flirting with being a really fudging good team, and we aren't owed success nor is it easy to come by. I think people may hate this comparison but Crystal Palace fans know the score, they have a cracking atmosphere every game and aren't burdened by lofty expectations nor a sense of entitlement.

It's up to everybody how they spend their time but the predictable incessant bickering on here in certain threads, with disingenuous oversimplification of opinions rife, and strawmen a plenty. Life's too short. It's not where we want to be but this too shall pass.

If any of the melts declaring we're guaranteed to get relegated want show me the betting slips because it's apparently nailed on, it's free money right? Good luck to you but I'm actually going to support the team, not that it makes any difference whatsoever but it's more fun that way.

Agreed - I don’t think we’ll be relegated. That, and the performances of Archie Gray, Spence, Bergvall and Deki are what I’m clinging to as a few shining lights in this season.

I wasn't at the game, but took immense price at the Gary Brooke tribute before the game, Just seeing the line-up of former stars showing their respect definitely got me going.

Agreed. I remember his debut (4-4 v Soton) and saw him I think in mot of his performances for us. A nostalgic moment for sure. Just seeing how old most of them were versus my memories of going everywhere to see them play was grit in the eye territory...

I love you.

I strongly agree with you. It is disappointing seeing the reactions. I was expecting better resilience considering where we were coming from in the early 2000s.

I think our overall strategy including this transfer window shows bravery.

Really struggling, flirting with relegation potentially turning towards an actual relegation battle.

Several fairly easy, safe options that could have been taken. Sack the manager and get in a Moyes character. Sign some decent to good PL level players that won't be good enough for where we want to be 6-18 months from now and surplus to requirements when our squad is mostly fit, but get us out of a hole short term.

Wanted a new keeper. The safe and obvious option was someone with PL experience and a bit of experience all round. Nope, we're sticking to the long term plan, 21 year old profile fit that's unproven not just in the PL, but in top leagues in general.

Stick to the long term plan, take the short term hit and criticism. I like it.

It's strange really. The transfer strategy is the one that we should have always had. Buy young players for the football philosophy of the manager and club, then organise and nurture them. It's all the most successful clubs have ever done. It's what Fergie did with Ronaldo as the best example. It's also what we did with Bale, Modric, Carrick etc.

This part of the equation should not be the piece being offered up as a root cause for where we find ourselves now. It just absolutely isn't.

The booing IMO is fine
The chanting is aimed at the board
One grunt calling Ange names is what it is
He didn't call him names, he just said "were gonna get relegated with you". Not sure if that was reason enough to come back out and attempt to stare him down. :tearsofjoy:
