US AGAINST THE WORLD COYS

My view is that us fans do need a bit more Millwall about us when facing the world. When we are hanging out together like we do on here, that is hugely different. It's totally OK to share how we're feeling. It's never quite plain sailing to be a Spurs fan.

However, you never want a forum culture where you get jumped on for daring to criticise anything or anyone. That turns the forum into the thought police. We're nowhere near that though.

As someone with some very significant experience of another forum, trust me when I say you guys are doing great with the culture on GG. It's is incredibly well balanced.

No it isn’t.

I think the tone of discussion is generally pretty good here.

I rarely look at any other Spurs forums, but I had a 10 minute dip into The Fighting C ock last weekend. I won't be going back in a hurry...for those who bridle at anything anti-Ange in here, they ain't seen nothing compared to what's on there! Lots of it, and grim in nature. The level of discussion there is...erm...aggressive, verging on toxic.

I have seen the occasional bit of attempted thought-policing on here of late, but I have the feeling that might be connected to this particular manager and our present set of circumstances.

My problem is that, being old, I hate everybody and I don't really want to be a member of a Spurs forum that would let someone like me join......

(that line with stolen from.an old mark brothers film and has always made me smile)

Come on you beautiful f...ing Spurs.

An opening for the pedants?

Yes. We are an impressive 9th in the money league with huge scope to add more wages i.e. shiny new players. We are buying top young talents. The only way is up, once the squad is built out further. COYS.

100%! It's only a matter of time. We just need to invest more of what we're earning into buying players and wages. That was the whole point of the new stadium, wasn't it? We'll get there, and it will be glorious! 😍

@Lemonade Money is right!
Let's cease bickering about everything, let's instead just accept the world and football godz hate us right now and the only way out of both that and our own stewing misery is to scream F U C K O F F EVERYONE and enthusiastically throw positive anger at anyone who dares to fudge with us (including the injury godz who can do one).

Anyone who is up for bunker mentality positivity and an escape from blaming someone/everyone within the club? Let's meet here! Anyone coming in here to level the same brick they can in a myriad of other threads, fudge off!!!!

COYS!!!!

Amen Brother Amen.

And on this feelgood note, what a difference a win makes. I had to accompany my partner to a very busy A&E around 2.00am last night (all ended well). Sitting in A&E at 3.00am/4.00am/5.00 etc in the morning isn't to be recommended, but as I tried to disconnect from the noise around me, I had a warm glow from the win. A repeat on Sunday night (the glow, not the trip to A&E) would work wonders for Spurs fans around the globe..

Good to hear. :)

Glad that all ended well for you/your partner.
And agree about the ‘glow’. I saw the result when I woke up this morning (time zone difference) and it definitely gave me an extra spring in my step.

Onto the “us against the world” theme : we were taking to a Swiss couple in a bar in our current stop in Thailand tonight and at the end the conversation came to football. I said who I supported and the guy laughed and said “Tottenham are losers” (seemed to be based largely on Harry Kane not having won anything). I think he was just a little surprised as my hackles were raised and I went into full-on defensive mode.
We as supporters really need a siege mentality to drown out the negativity around us - but unfortunately much of that is coming from our own fans. We need positivity to spur ( intended pun) the team on.

What do the Swiss know about anything apart from money laundering and using the money to buy up our heritage brands before ruining it all.

And anyway, they should be neutral.

What a terrible way to end the conversation.
I'd have instantly thought (and probably said out load) ...what a f.cking waste of time that was...talking to you.

Oddly enough this is how Random, now the Cheese room started. One thread was all we had to start. Then it kinda got out of hand..... 😂

Let this one get wildly out of hand indeed mi amigo!
@Lemonade Money made the excellent point of 'why not' and why not indeed!!!!! People can go elsewhere/other threads to complain and debate who is at fault for everything from VdV's hamstrings to global fudging warming, this is absolutely for hopeless romantics who just want ONE place they can go on this forum where there will be no counter to positivity and bunker mentality!!!!

You absolute legend! Boorish t w a t s like that need to be brought down to their true level; your left toe doubtless knows more about the game than this cretin's entire frame!

And I agree!!!!!!!!

I know I'd have been unable to avoid lecturing the poor idiot into the ground (something that doubtless does not surprise some around here who know me such as your fine self LOL)...
