Tyler Dibling

It would give us some incredible future talent along with that we have already. Not sure our supporters have the stones for it though, because we'd essentially need another season or so for it all to click.
One of my biggest gripes at the moment is that the senior players like Bissouma and Maddison and Son are not standing up and pulling us through.

If we accept we're likely to finish about 14th and win nothing, surely its best to make the best possible long term signing for the club we can. Rather than blow the same amount of money on say Rashford and Maguire, who we'll be desperately trying to pay off the wage bill in 12 months time
Agreed.

And he looks good enough to at the very least be involved, be a useful option short term too. Similar to Gray and Bergvall, but already experienced in the PL unlike them when they signed.

Good profile fit too and plays in positions where we need to strengthen.

Dibling would very much be in the same bracket as Gray - Wasn't necessarily going to go in for him, but as we discover he is available at a hefty price for a teenager we are prepared to pay it because of just how talented he is and too good an opportunity not to take up. There are plenty of talented youngsters who might become a real player, and a much smaller sample size who whilst no guarantees are very likely to end up being a top player. He like Gray is one of those, and would almost instantly/instantly would take up one of our spots on the wing regardless of age.....

RIGHT there with you. Albeit I do not know what is wrong with Maddison, it seems a little convenient doesn't it...
I have a hypothesis on Maddison. He has often talked about his family and how much it means to him, how much he misses them when he’s away etc. I’m sure he is entirely dedicated as a professional - all at this level have to be as they wouldn’t get to where they are - but at the final %s, he is lacking, perhaps mentally, more than anything. He seems football as a job primarily and his family are everything to him.

I’m probably not articulating this v well, but ultimately he’s of the view that he’s not at the very, very highest echelons of the game, and therefore maybe subconsciously he allows himself to be ‘distracted’ by family matters. Just a thought.

Possibly a dialectic at play here I can’t reconcile i.e. you can play at the highest level AND be a dedicated family man.

I feel you're right.
And in fairness to him, it would be a reason which would be hard to criticise him for (family first, job second)...
...so frustrting for us as supporters because we all see what he could be and wish he'd be just that!!!

They always used to reckon F1 drivers lost a second a lap when their first kid was born

Barcelona are doing fine with Youth mixed with a few quality players here and there, no one there is world class if you take away Lewandowski due to his age. Raphina is having a good spell and obviously Yamal is an unbelievable talent but its mostly solid youth players in that team. They may not be winning the league or favourites for the Champions league but they have put faith in youth and they are competing.

Our problem is we haven’t been ruthless enough when it comes to the fan favourites, Poch, Mourinho, Conte and Ange have played the big players regardless of if they are in form or having a shocker. We need to start dropping players for poor performances. Son has been shocking for a while now, Johnson has been poor and although the manager has no choice at the moment due to injuries this was happening well before the crisis we have now. If a player has been playing brick for 2 or 3 games they need to be dropped. Son would have been dropped at City, Liverpool and to an extent Arsenal for being this poor yet we still play him.

He has never been any different here then he has been at his previous clubs, Norwich, Leicester and now here. He has talent but so often he fails to command games and that is what frustrates me more then anything about him.

Maddison's output has been incredible this season. The issue is that Maddison is and always has been a 10. What we've done with him is play him deeper then place the expectations on him to dictate and drive play like an 8 when it's not his game. A 10 is someone that isn't necessarily involved in play all the time but who is often the difference between turning a promising attack into a goal by seeing and executing that final killer piece of play when they get on the ball just outside the box. Maddison is excellent at that and for a long time we used to talk about a lack of creativity which meant we struggled to break down teams but we actually don't since Maddison joined. We almost always score. A lot of that is down to Maddison when he's in the team. He isn't 100% suited to Ange's system as Ange basically plays x2 8s and wants them to be more your Gerrard type box to boxers that can get on the end of stuff but muck in and drive play further back. But he's still produced more than almost anyone else....

See you say poor for Johnson but he's our leading scorer.

Son is into double figures again for the 9th season in a row.

We are one of the highest scoring teams in the league.

With 14 league games and who knows how many cup games to the end of the season it's plausible that both the players you say aren't performing could get 20 goals for us.

You don't get to see everything, you get to see 90 minutes, likely often on TV (apologies if you are a STH). Ange does, so do the coaches and if someone wasn't performing then there would be changes.

I'll give you 2 out the 3. You don't get Bissouma.

He's been incredibly consistent this season and, apart from 2 games, we've always looked better with him in the side. Does so much thankless work for Ange, and has patched himself up plenty of times for his manager. Even today, I bet he was worried about the hamstring that's been bugging him for a while. Bentancur might be flavour of the day, but Biss and Sarr weren't the ones missing 10 needless games.

I actually think the Spurs fans give Bissouma a very rough ride and it's not that warranted in this period.
