Transfer thread

I'm assuming you have listed this season's A-list? It's a good reference point. I was mapping everyone that fell into that bucket for next season. Looks like we got some work to do to both create space and accommodate existing players. The killer for me is not being able to register U21's that haven't been registered with Spurs for 2 years. Gray and Bergval have been taking 2 slots. Now we have guys like Vuskovic in the same boat. Yang as well. Not looking good for Keeley as well.
No, I just got rid of all of the players that you listed that I think have zero chance of being in our A list for the CL next season.... No chance Keeley, Vuskovic, Yang, Gil, Veliz or Solomon make the A list IMO.

In some ways I would largely ignore the Champions League squad rules and build a squad first and foremost for the PL and then just piece a Champions League squad together from a subset of the PL squad.

Here is our potential PL squad (OS = overseas, AT = Association Trained, u21 = under 21).

1 .OS1. Vicaro
2. OS2. Kinksy
3. AT1. Austin
4. OS3. Porro
5. AT2. Spence
6. OS4. Romero
7. OS5. VDV
8. OS6. Danso
9. OS7. Dragusin
10. AT3. Davies
11. OS8. Udogie
12. OS9. Sarr
13. OS10. Bentancur
14. OS11. Bissouma
15. AT4. Maddison
15. u21 1. Gray
15. u21 2. Bergval
16. OS12. Kulusevski
17. AT5. Johnson
17. u21 3. Odobert
17. u21 4. Tel
18. OS13. Son.
19. OS14. Richi
20. AT6. Solanke

Of course there are also the likes of Moore, Donley, Phillips and Devine that are still u21 players but with decent experience in mens football who could be in our PL squad without taking up a squad place.

In theory we can sign another 5 players over the age of 21 for our premier league squad, 3 of which could be overseas players and that is without selling anyone from our first team squad this season and us signing Tel permanently.

Of our first team squad I'd choose to sell Bissouma and replace him with Samuele Ricci from Torino and also sell Richarlison and replace him with Delap (which would also free up another overseas spot).

Seeing as the only club trained player over 21 in our Champions League squad is likely to be Austin, releasing Davies and bringing in Kyle Walker Peters on a free transfer might be a reasonably sensible option, as others have said I suspect Dane Scarlett may also be retained as CL squad ballast.

I've been thinking about Delap and wonder if he's actually any good? Is he being overhyped again because he's English?
His second half of the season, i barely remember him at all and wonder if defenders at the top level have already figured him out...

Am i being harsh here?
Of course he is overhyped.

Give over.... As has been pointed out several times already, what we made in our Cup runs this season compared to last season has made up for what we have lost in terms of PL prize money.

Next season our CL money is very unlikely to be lower than our Europa money this season and our PL prize money is also very unlikely to be any lower than our PL prize money this season.
Unlikely but not improbable if Ange stays

The speculation begins. Amazing what a CL place does

If Son leaves this summer then Sane coming in to replace him could prove very good business.

If we could somehow snare both him and Kimmich from Bayern it could be transformational for our team, mega wages but if one team in Europe can afford a bigger wage bill it is Spurs!

Yeah, I think the PL squad is the easier one to configure. I can see Davies, Bissouma and Richi being the obvious swap outs.

Ricci sounds good. I'm a Joao Gomes fan as well. I guess we find out about Cardoso in the first week of July.

Jeezuz wept! It's all just gossip and speculation! We haven't heard about any of our recent signings until literally the day they signed.
Why do people still read this stuff and believe everything?
Relax mate. I literally said “seems like Utd are in for….” And “Hopefully we have some stuff going on privately”.

What exactly did I read and believe? It’s the transfer page of a football forum. You know…where people maybe chat and speculate about transfers and give their opinion.

That is disappointing, I would rather we go full steam for Eze. He has a buyout clause of about £60m, and we know he is better than what we already have.
I think they are very different players. I think Eze would have to play more centrally for Spurs, probably in Maddison's role. I don't think there is a lot in it in terms of who is better out of Maddison and Eze (I think Maddison has better goal and assist numbers). Enzo Millot would be way better value than Eze to provide cover and competition for Maddison considering his release clause of under 20 million euros.

Solomon out and Tel in.
Son out and Sane in.
Bissouma out and Ricci in
Richarlison out and Delap in
Davies out and KWP in (advantageous for a club trained spot in our CL squad for zero transfer fee)
Hojbjerg out and Enzo Millot in

That would be a good summer for Spurs (and would probably be no more than £50m of net spend. With us still having several overseas spots available to fill if we wished to.

A world class player is a world class player … one that looks like he will be replacing partey. The get the hate for arsenal but they have backed Arteta with who he wants.

Is Zubimendi world class? Curious as i've never watched him at all.

Arteta has certainly been backed no question. Their lack of trophies in the last 5 years cannot be blamed on their board that's for sure

There is zero chance of Spurs selling Son this summer, especially as they are heading off to SK in pre season.

Also, Eze can play on the left as well, an upgrade on Tel.

We are in the CL, we should be aiming for better than KWP

We could always sell him after the pre season ;)

If we're holding on to players merely because of their commercial value then I'm not sure that's conducive to us trying to win more trophies. In saying that we have plenty of space for players in our PL Squad so bringing in Sane and keeping Son is also possible.

I don't think Eze is the right type of player to play on the left for us, I think he would have to play through the middle and I'm not convinced he is massively better than Maddison (I'm not even convinced he is as good) to be paying £60m.

The attraction with KWP is solely that he would count as home grown and on a free so would not cost a transfer fee. We only really have Austin as a home grown over 21 player that we'd expect to be in our squad, that means we'll be three players short. KWP would allow us to add a player to our CL squad.
