Transfer thread

Don't think Devine or Abbott enter the conversation this year. Think both go to a Championship or SPL club for a season. Same with Moore.

I'm not sure we are going to see Big Dom become a 20+ league goal machine which is a shame as I think he contributes a lot so agree a 'superstar' forward is needed but I would be focusing on a more defined goal-scorer rather than versatility as I think all of Johnson, Tels, Odobert & Kulu offer enough 'versatility. No idea who that would be though.

Interesting perception. Devine is one of the elder statesmen in our U21s. He's 21 in August and this is his last year as an U21. Abbott is a clear 2 years younger. Moore is even another year younger.

Devine has now completed 3 loans and played 75 times at a senior level. This has to be his year, or I fear he will have missed the boat. Donley is only 6 months younger.

Phillips will be pushing for either 1st team or a transfer out as well, would be my guess.

As for the number 9 position, the challenge is there are so few out there. Solanke needs to hit the back of the net more in my opinion, whether it is a slight change in setup or just a second season thing. Interestingly, his stats are quite similar to Vlahovic at Juve. I think you genuinely have to scour the market for number 9s and buy young. We're clearly in that cycle with Lanks, Melia etc. I'm starting to see the argument to retain Richi if we can't find one.

Yeah, would love it. I find it amazing how Palace have managed to collect such a bunch of talented players.

I'd take 4 or 5 of them in a heartbeat.

Part of it comes down to the fact that the ‘big six’ are often hesitant to gamble on Championship players. They prefer to sign more established names — often those who’ve already proven themselves in the Premier League. Because top clubs need immediate impact from new signings, they’re less willing to take risks and tend to pay a premium for ready-made players.

Palace, on the other hand, have nailed their recruitment by targeting the right talent. If we sign Eze and they sell Guehi and Wharton, they could bring in around £180 million — plenty to strengthen their squad. With Europa League football on the horizon, they’ll need greater depth, but if they continue recruiting wisely, they could climb the table and become even more competitive. It shows there’s a clear pathway to success for smaller clubs that get it right.

Yeah, I think of Devine as younger than he is so guess he is getting to that make or break.point.

Financially we'll struggle to spend on a player like that without cashing in on someone for a good chunk of the fee.

Maddison and Eze also do the same sort of role, and with Kulu being better than both of them, we dont need all 3.
As we will be in 4 competitions next season I would not.want to rely on just those 2 for our creativity.

A new DM, someone who can backup and/or compete with Maddison, a backup for Solanke (Johnson!), and an RW.

Ange will never use Johnson as a CF, but I would love to see him play there one day.

Sane's agent wants him to join us, apparently. Supposedly not a very reliable source, so who knows.

Feels like they thought there would be a massive queue for him on a free but it hasn't materialised. Now they are just linking him with us to get some interest going

I think due to clubs lack of money due to FFP, Sane will on the list of many clubs, just near the bottom once they see what budget they have left
