Transfer thread

Neto is obviously good but I don't think he's that good tbh, £50m being touted? maybe that isn't so bad. Much like you I don't watch a great deal outside of English football.

I know it's a bit of a running joke these days but I'd take Zaha in a flash, contract not got long left, potential deal to be had, HG - saves us him playing a blinder against us at least once a season...

Did mention him at the beginning of the window, not many on here were keen.

I wonder what the chances are of Reggie, Tanganga, Winks, Gil (Loan) and Pape Sarr (Probably Loan) all getting shifted by the deadline... In previous years we always seem to have struggled getting everyone out but this window it feels like everyone has some potential offers to leave.

I wonder whether we are going to hang on to Pape Sarr as Skipp has been out for so long with injuries

he said something the other day along the lines of Maguire went for £80m a few years ago so that has to be the benchmark for valuing Fofana.

These numbers are crazy. 70/80 Fofana. 50/60 Gordon.

When a team seemingly has unlimited money it blows the whole concept of value out of the window. There is no fail/loss consequence. If these transfers don’t work, they will just move on with the next ones. It’s a wonder anyone expects us to compete in the market with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd.

I put City and Liverpool slightly behind those 2 purposely as I think their business is a touch more strategic - albeit still spending chunks.

Chelsea and United have lost their minds transfer wise this summer
Hapless owners. It's fun to watch. Both are in spirals of decline, so it's going to keep getting worse.

It's like when Liverpool were spending huge on the likes of Stan collymore and dean saunders

To bring it back to us. Need some movement on outgoing players. Still think we'll want to add a player or two coming in, but probably can't really until we shift some more players out.

Could be a busy week coming up.

Apparently we still want 2 in (Assuming we can shift Gil etc.). I hope we are targeting someone we haven't heard of yet as all these random links this week haven't been too appealing.

It seems more that we can shift gil to valencia anytime we want. Conte has said anyone that leaves (not including winks etc...) has to be replaced though. Which seems to be what we're looking at. The links especially the atalanta guy looks like we can do it quite easily. So are probably backup choices. No idea who first choice would be then.

Do we still look stodgy in terms of creating chances and keeping good possession through passing ability?
Or is how we've been playing so far reflective of a fully 'Conte-fied' team?

Was so happy to get the win (any kind of win) vs Wolves but worry about fluidity after the first game vs Soton...

The prob with Zaha is still how much he would cost, but maybe when he gets to 1 year left on his contract might be doable.

Great player on his day, might find more consistency in a better team. But…still gonna cost big money that’s prob better spent elsewhere.

His contract expires next summer. Now palace may feel he's worth more keeping a year then letting him go on a free than getting £20-30m now. Don't know.
