Transfer speculation

we will have a slow start to the season and sign someone towards the end of August. a squad player of some sort. Sometimes a new singing lifts the squad a bit which is always a good thing.

Name a signing made buy an EPL club this summer, other than Bernardo Silva, who would have fitted into our squad/system/balance and improved us
I would say that Kolasinac that Arsenal have signed would've been very good back up for Rose in our system. I think he will do very well in England.

I don't see much past that who I would've wanted for the prices paid however. That being said I would've been happy if we had got either or both of Onyekuru and Ramirez who Everton snapped up.

Dangerous attitude. If we slip up this season we run the risk of entering life at the new stadium without even Europa League to play for.

I would also add Wimmer to the dead wood list.
More dangerous to be desperate for signings. Or to spend significant money on players that aren't good enough. Or to make signings that would halt the development of some of our youngsters without actually improving our team.

There are risks associated with all approaches. Our seeming approach at the moment with considerable patience in the market and being very picky on players we do sign seems a very good approach to me.

I just hope the club do not panic have a brain fart and do another sissoko at the end of the window.

I would love Sessegnon and Brerton from the championship. But more I think about it i hope we dont sign any one or sell any one, it is the only real way to change the image of the club into a more serious grown up one i think.

But add those two and loan them back and that's progress for me

We have to bear in mind the fact that Poch is perfectly capable of adapting and tweaking his system so not all the criteria you give are quite right.
Jordan Pickford would have been a great number two keeper. Ramirez, Klaasen and Keane would all, I think, have been good for the squad.
Rudiger is a pretty impressive player.
If Jay Rodriguez really can return/has returned to fitness then he, too, could have been a squad option.

Thought Kolasinac is a CB playing at LB so good backwards but bad forwards - this is how he has been described every time I have heard him being discussed, would say that is not so good in our system.

Why would we have a slow start to the season, when we'll have the same starting 11 (plus injury returners) as we finished the last in such domineering style?

The same squad that's been the best in the league over the last two years, but a year more mature/developed

I'm not sure.
- Pickford is comparable to Lopez (Spain's U21 GK with a year of senior football), and we have Vorm too (whose best quality is having the psychology of a #2).
- Keane isn't as good as Wimmer and Rodrguez isn't as good as Lamela
- Ramirez is probably the wrong type of player for us - he's more a poacher than a wide forward.
- I've not seen enough of Klaasen and Rudiger, but neither is that dynamic dribbling AM we need

We've not got Lopez yet, and you did just ask for summer signings that could have fitted in ;)
Keane and Wimmer, based on last season, I don't think that definitive judgement can be made.

Telegraph did a summary of where we're at:

Foyth is also a versatile player who can operate in defence or midfield, but the Argentinian is only 19 and will need time adapt and develop.

Tottenham are hopeful of agreeing a deal with Estudiantes for Foyth, although it is unclear whether he is viewed as a signing to challenge for a first-team place this season or one for the future.

Having looked at Keane and Harry Maguire, who moved to Leicester City, Spurs have also shown an interest in Swansea City central defender Alfie Mawson.

Kevin Wimmer is keen to leave White Hart Lane and play more first-team football, but Tottenham have not yet ruled out keeping the Austrian they value at £20m.

Other than trying to strengthen their defence, Tottenham remain interested in Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Bournemouth forward Josh King.

Everton had been demanding £50m for Barkley, but his omission from the club’s pre-season tour could bring his price down.

Spurs have enquired about King but may face stiff competition from Everton who are in the market for a new forward after selling Romelu Lukaku and have shown an interest in both King and Christian Benteke.

King has expressed an interest in joining Tottenham, but could be guaranteed more playing time at Goodison Park, where he would not be behind Harry Kane in the pecking order.

He doesn't want to move to London. When he left Watford for Manchester he said it was really important because it got him away from the gangs he was caught up in. Similar to what Sterling said when he left QPR for Liverpool
