Transfer speculation

Clearly you can't read ... Wayne Rooney does... all he needs now is grandma to tuck him in ... wink wink

Maybe Everton should have offered him better pyjamas before he went off to united.
Clearly you still leave your teeth under your pillow and leave milk and biscuits out for Santa:)

Not really. Utd have paid up his final 2 years of his Utd contract and he joins Everton on a free and on a reduced salary which fits in with the Everton wage structure. its only a 2 year deal, and he isn't Lukaku's replacement as they are looking to bring someone else in for that.

It's Utd who are the big losers financially. But they don't care as they have money to burn.

It's not really about finances it's that they've signed a player who will more than likely have to be shoehorned in to a team at the expense of actual good players.

150k pw has been reported plus a 15m signing on fee - not exactly chump change anyway.

Man Utd have come out better off because they don't have him stinking the place out anymore

No it's a 15 mill package (signing on few plus wages) over 2 years which equates to 150k a week. A highly respected Everton itk as the source.

Rooney has been added to the squad. If he doesnt perform koeman will drop him. Rooney wont kick up a fuss either, he knows he is not the player he was.

Everton are at the stage where we were under Jol. Rooney is a kind of Edgar Davids signing, not the player he was, aged, but somehow a signing that will get the fans going and brings some winning experience to the dressing room.

I don't pay attention to our own ITKs let alone other clubs. It's been reported as 150k pw + 15m in signing on fees and considering the wage he is currently on and length of contract that sounds about right to me.

The Everton fans on a mixed supporters board I read are as bemused at this transfer as outsiders and think it's undoing their earlier good work in the window - and I agree with that, reeks of the chairman going over the managers head because he just doesn't fit in to Koemans style. Not to mention the fact he is generally poorly regarded by Everton fans in general and always gets a bad reception whenever he returned to Goodison.

That £15m was paid by united to buy out his contact

Everton have the same restriction everyone else has on increasing wages form last season so an easy way to do it is pay a bigger signing on fee and less wages

I think was reported as a signing on fee which would be paid by the club signing the player - if his contract was paid out by United then that would be a separate deal and nothing to do with the transfer.

Signing on fees don't count towards wage budgets as far as I'm aware though am happy to be proven wrong on that

I like this transfer as it weakens both sides IMO

United lose a player who actually worked his Arse off every game

Everton have signed a player who will take up a decent chunk of their wages and will actually slow down their play

The Lukaku one is even better as united have signed a player who is inferior or only equivalent to Zlatan so no improvement, Everton are weaker and have to replace 50% of their goals and Chelsea haven't got that all important striker

It's why I said that Everton are paying a signing on fee but the £15m figure is certainly what united are paying off on his wages

Id rather have Barkley than Sissoko, Onomah or Ndoku on the bench

Quite right! I cant see how anyone could argue that he wouldn't improve our squad, and adding depth is the priority this summer in my view. The only position where I could see us signing someone who is genuinely a first choice is perhaps if we could an attacker someone with proper pace or skill...but even then I'm not sure who I'd leave out.

Omg what has Rooney done to you.....you really seem to dislike him:)

Why wouldn't koeman want Rooney's experience. Everton have quite a few youngsters in the squad now. Everton fans have had a problem with Rooney but now he has come back in sure they will accept him.

They've been busy this summer but they still have work to do to challenge the top 6 places. Like i said before Everton now remind me of Spurs underJol 11 or 12 years ago

Cheatski have signed Rudiger from Roma. Man U, Man C, Liverpool, Arse, Everton have all strengthened already...I really hope Poch is ok with our transfer policy given that losing him would take us back years and it would be typical-Spurs for that to happen....whenever we've seemed to be making progress in the last 20-30 years, usually something comes us to take us backwards!

Well it's the same transfer policy we've had since he joined so why should he all of a sudden now decide he's not happy with it? Think it's pretty obvious he has a cohesive relationship with Levy....

We are doomed i tell thee doomed, you are like a broken record mate :p

We are mate... royally fecked

I've said it before but no one seems to be able to answer

Who has anyone signed who would make our first 11 stringer???

whilst that last part is probably a fair question im not sure really matters, because it is our rivals they have gone to and if they improve our rivals teams then it makes our job of finishing above them harder...
