The reason Liverpool and Man Utd dominated the league for numerous seasons is because when they won the league and were undoubtedly the best team in the country they tried to strengthen their squad and in particular the starting 11 with at least one quality addition every season. Now that we have had our best league season in my life time I am looking forward to management's plan for this upcoming season.

It seems Everton might be signing Siggy for about £30m and a salary of approx £135K a week, possible more than we can afford these days, especially the salary.
A Liverpool fan did a pretty good analysis of him. He's a highlights reel player.
To explain this, he doesn´t dribble much, he shoots lots but his open play shots are from locations that aren´t effective, he rarely touches the ball in the box, he doesn´t get the ball into the box much, creates almost nothing from open play.
Basically, he is a deadball specialist and almost useless from open play. Whilst not shown here, his defensive output is the lowest from all the central midfielders in Swansea. Only Ayew and Routledge are lower in their squad which I expect as they are wingers. Seems like something of
a luxury player who will get some goals and assists from corners but won´t help you much from open play either with or without the ball. If he is your upgrade on Barkley then that could be a problem as Barkley does offer some production from open play.
He does work very hard though. I think he has one of the highest total distance ran numbers in the league last season?

He is average at best. Was better off going to the USA.
No doubt Gareth has told him to stay in the prem to increase his chances of a call up to the world cup.
Logical choice for Rooney, can't see him staying beyond a year.
@Jordinho the main sentiment I was alluding to is that any decent player demanding £100K a week is going to be out of our price range. And yes you may rightly claim that the market is over bloated £100K is on the verge of becoming the norm, at the very least you no longer have to be a special player to earn it as you might well have done around 5 years ago. Hopefully I am proved wrong and we are able to pluck out another diamond in the rough

Most clubs are incredibly poorly run with no long term planning or idea on how to get the most out of the resources at their disposal. It's not Levy being stingy, it's everyone else being desperate macarons. Unless Sigurdsson absolutely loves life in Swansea, Everton should get him for just a minimal increase to what he's currently earning. This is like throwing everything you've got into scoring with the fat chick and the bar only just opened.
Does that mean you are not disagreeing with me about £100K soon becoming the norm?
