Transfer Rumour Thread

Disagree, secretly hoping this is a similar deal to the Fryers deal with Liege. I'm hoping because I think we have a decent relationship with Lazio due to Gazza. Would be funny if he signed a 18 month deal.

Ditched by Ferguson because of his attitude. Apart from not signing with Fat Sam's preferred agent, he has been poor both there and on loan at QPR in the Championship. Classic case of someone believing their own hype and thinking his natural talent alone will see him through.

Dont know how much interest we actually had in signing him, but Delph has signed a new deal with Aston Villa

Don't think there was much at all beyond keeping an eye on the situation. Must have finally gotten his 60K a week demands filled or close enough.

I bet it's a similar scenario to Bony. Did the right thing to help the club get a fee.

Another day goes by without any serious reports linking us to players? I am not expecting a signing spree but we certainly need a striker..any striker really there has to be one somewhere in the world that can help us or at least give us some depth!

I doubt we're even looking if there's no interest in our existing ones.

Well if that is the case we are certainly fudged. We have one striker who is on huge wages and not bothered half the time and our other striker cannot score in a Thai kittenhouse. Cannot realistically see anyone taking either of them even on loan

We won;t spend a penny, typical Levy nnot backing his managers, so many times weve been close to success then he spends nothing and we get nowhere

Poch doesn't seem bothered about signings - he never was at Soton either. He has though been saying since week 1 that the squad is too big for him to work with.

So perhaps not wasting all our summer's funds on overpriced mediocre 'bodies' and focusing on sales is backing the manager?

The key has to be getting rid of the players he doesn't want first, but not leaving us exposed.

January is notorious as a time when too dollar is expected for players who generally aren't worth the value being asked (i know not in all cases).

I'd rather we have the right players in to suit Poch and no dead wood in the squad

Did you really expect us to be spending money on transfers?

The good news is that we are well over half way through our austerity decade, and most people are only just starting to notice.

I agree, our squad is massive, sit down and run through it in your head.

You will miss off at least 3/4 that you will have just forgotten we still own.

saying that, I do think we need at least one forward/striker in this window

I counted for the '25 man squad' thread the other day. Naughton going takes us down from 36 senior players that we own to 35.

Signing the right player when we do sign someone is more important than just signing someone for sure.

A signing or two could be massive for us. But signing the wrong players could be just as detrimental. We have to look for deals that make sense to our transfer team overall. Not at all the time to be desperate.

Seriously... Do you at least read your own posts? If so you should know that he's not.
