Transfer Rumour Thread

I think Mitchell will be doing a lot of the looking at internal talent as well, from the interview with him whilst at Southampton (or the whole piece on Southampton) i am sure there was reference to him giving facts (or whatever) about there youth players that could step up and when they are likely to be able to step up.

Definitely. His formal job title is Head of Performance and Analysis, which implies more inward looking that outward.

It isn't facts per se - he uses big data to write algorithms which predict future trends. It's how much of the world works now (targeted marketing in commerce, health and services management in the public sector etc.) - he's just applying it to football

Was hoping we'd see Natalie Sawyer try.

I don't think that he writes any of the algorithms. If he did he would not have any time to look at players.

Someone here much clevererer than me should be able to outline how they think our transfer committee works from start to finish?

I presume the bald freaky one still has the final say so. It would be nice to know what exactly Baldi and Peggy Mitchell do? In particular how involved is our glorious Argie coach.

As long as we clear some space...going to be very interesting seeing how we recruit this summer.

who we got so far then :(

From the Evening Standard:

Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado are on the radar of Roma as the Italian club seek a replacement for AC Milan bound Mattia Destro.

Adebayor is also wanted by Queens Park Rangers, where ex-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen on another of his former players, Aaron Lennon.

Roma are signing one, if not both, of Doumbia and Luiz Adriano to replace Destro

On the plus side, Fiorentina are weakened.
On the down side, Chelsea will be strengthened for the Cup final.
