Tottenham Hotspur V IF Elfsborg

Son just realised early on he had the beating of the fullback so took him on at almost every opportunity. When he doesn’t think he can beat them he obviously doesn’t try it as much. At least we didn’t have to watch him play down the middle yesterday.

Thought we struggled for creativity centrally. Son was really good, Moore had moments. But not a great game for Bergvall on the creative side and Sarr doesn't offer much creativity on the ball either.

Didn't find it dull, but we lacked a bit of a cutting edge to turn domination into chances and goals.

Thought Bergvail was pretty poor last night. Certainly in the first half gave the ball away easily on 3/4 occasions.

I just come from a place of we look exactly what we are. A lower to mid table side.

Our shape at times is atrocious. Good job they had nothing going forward.

We will see Sunday if there’s any green shoots of improvement. I have doubts.

With this number of injuries, fatigue and two games a week that's pretty much what we are. But it's not where we are as a team/squad.

For sure doubts. But imo also some reasons for hope and optimism.

I think the squad is top 5-10 when fit . I think we’ve signed poorly in recent windows .Our manager however is not to the level required in the prem.

Onto Sunday.
 
We did struggle with creativity last night with no madders and with Deki on the right. We didn't have a player who would run at the defence, until the Academy lad did it.

Not for me . We did not sign enough quality. Forget Bergvail and Gray they were for the future and have been lobbed in deep end and been one bright spot in this awful season . Was specifically talking last summer. VDV and Udogie positives

Dragusin is nothing special. Solanke I’m not sure on. Doesn’t get enough service to judge properly works hard no doubt . As for Johnson boy smacks of mid table muck beyond back post tap ins offers very little.

I watch us and see mid table footballers. We are nothing more. I got some thumbs down for my post but that’s way I see it.

Solanke has 11 goals & 7 assists in just a little over half a season in a side that is neither setup for him to score or playing well. Extremely well adapted to our ask of him to press and be a pivot.
Johnson has 12 goals & 4 assists as a winger.

I get than Johnson is a limited player but to say he or Solanke are poor/questionable buys just isn't backed up.

I said I’d judge Solanke when I’ve seen more. He’s finishing is not the best for me. As I say he’s not had the best of service. Big fee tho.

As for Johnson as I say. He’s a tap in merchant. Very limited footballer. We got our pants pulled down on fee for him.

You can use stats to say it’s not backed up that’s fine. My eyes tell me different. If we put Johnson on the market now at 65m not a single club would go near him at that price not a chance . That’s not his fault. That’s poor business from our end.
