regardless of today's result, this appointment really surprised me, its its very un-levy, i'm sure sherwood talks a good game but his CV is wafer thin. But after appointing supposedly "proven" coaches like Santini, Ramos who did little, maybe Levy was thinking this many not be such a gamble. But how much of this was predicated on the southampton result, if we hadn't of won, would sherwood have still got the gig ?

Feels like we've gone from totally logical manager to a purely emotional one.
Once we had sensible football but no dreams; now it looks like fantasy football but no logic.

So can anybody give a reason why Tim, in the absence of Sandro, is not starting Capoue, especially with Eriksen in the middle of a 4-4-2?
Ah come there was nothing logical about AVB high line. He had an almost religious belief in the high line regardless of how slow his defenders.
Sherwood seems to have a similar belief in passing football as the proper way to play football.
Because he sees Capoue is a very defensive physical player. He wants to play a passed beside a box to box player. He saw Holtby as a box to box player but it didnt work today.
But the stats would tell you that Capoue makes the highest no of passes per game on average out of our midfielders - perhaps he hasn't seen them?
"I don't know Capoue as much as I know Bentaleb and that's why I put the latter on instead of the former," said Sherwood after the game, pointing to his knowledge of the Spurs youth set-up rather than the big signings.
Fair enough. So now our newly appointed head coach is able to train with the first team and I hope by getting train with the 1st team players he'd know much about Capoue and hand him a chance .
Don't get me wrong i have nothing against Bentaleb . Its always good to see a youth player get into the first team and he did well so far. But at the same time I feel Capoue deserves more than just being a bench warmer or temporary CB back up without given enough time to prove himself.
Can we please change the thread title back to 'Interim Head Coach' because it is clear this is only a stop gap measure not a long term deal
jeez people make me laugh......we have recently suffered massive 5 and 6 nill defeats, the confidence of the squad must be at an all time low, Levy rightly decided to sack off the inept AVB and his dour defensive football which started shipping in goals too. Now Sherwood has to pick up the pieces, rebuild confidence, try to find his best team, create a style of play which is cohesive and attractive, and he has had a week so far to do it all
its gonna take time.
That is all based on your assumption that morale is low. However, after the last couple of large defeats AVB did a very good job of picking up team spirit and getting us playing again.
Do what, other than your baseless assumptions, leads you to think morale is low?
You know what would make my morale low at work? If one of my directors got sacked by the shareholders and replaced by Dave the cleaner. Who, whilst he loves to chat about what he'd do to improve our business, has less than no idea how to actually do that.
ah i see, so after the capitulation against West Spam we had a few good results until being destroyed by Emirates Marketing Project. After Emirates Marketing Project, we had a few good results until being murdered by Liverpool. Hmmmm, and during the heavy defeats and the good results, playing turgid boring football was the common theme
yes, its my assumption that morale was low.
