Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

He just doesn't handle himself in the media well for me. Marginalising our players in the press/media. (Sandro is partly to blame of course but it's fair game after previous criticisms of the squad).

I mean it's just stupid at times. He answers loaded questions like who is your best players at spurs? He says without hesitation Lloris, Adebayor. No one else. Top man management there Tim. Just think before you speak or just shut the f*** up. Always praised for his honesty. By who? Usually the media because he writes their headlines for them

When you do your badges isn't working with the media part of it, considering he doesn't have the badges maybe that is why he is a train wreck.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Well he knew he wasn't going to sign anyone in the January window so nothing wrong with what he said there, and considering some of the player's performances in March he was right in saying they are playing for their futures - that isn't a direct contradiction.

The 'I know what supporters want' quote he was talking about the brand of football Spurs fans want to see and has no relation to him knowing whether Spurs fans are asking where Sandro is or not.

The world class quotes are quite funny I must admit, but the way some on here literally hang onto every little quote from Sherwood and want to twist literally every word that comes out of Sherwood's mouth into something negative is quite disturbing....

Tbh you are absolutely correct. I'm just copying these from twitter. Thought they were quite funny. Along with the new one about Eriksen at 17 at wembley. In all honesty, people are going too far and overreacting. I just think he makes himself out to look a bit of a tool, but absolutely these quotes are blown way out of proportion

Oh I see, sorry I didn't know that! Some decent light entertainment indeed....

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Or maybe the club doesn't give a **** any longer and are happy to let him dig his own grave? Maybe even hoping he might say something to get sacked over, like Graham?

I would have expected the media training to go back to before he took over the first team. He was wheeled out to represent the club by talking to the press during the Bale saga last summer, I doubt that they would have done that if they didn't think that he could stick to a script. More recently, the press office aren't doing their job if they are not briefing him and giving him lines before media engagements. It is possible that the club have given up on him but if that is the case, I doubt that the club has gone as far as withdrawing support to the extent that the situation was obvious to junior members of staff.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Even the youth players get media training so I am sure he has had it. Maybe he just does not care any more.

I do not think he is good enough to take us forward but would not be devastated if he stays, apart of me would like it because a lot on here would be suicidal and that would be kind of funny.

He was foolish from a self-preseveration mode. Offered Berbatov for a few months by Levy, he turned it down saying he didn't need anyone and had it sorted. That deal was 100% on and all it needed was a 'yes'. PERSONALLY, as much as I love Berba I would not have wanted him back for a variety of reasons (namely my own stubbornness!) but I am not the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, and as such, turning down the chance to sign a STRIKER who would probably have netted you at least 5 extra goals with great importance is arrogance and stupidity in one glorious blend.

I think it's a ****ing context in this regard until the final match, and we can be grateful that we still have enough quality in the squad to win games on auto-pilot without any managerial guidance whatsoever. What a shambles!

Scoring goals with Tim at the helm has not been a problem.... And I think Ade and berbs in the same squad would have been a nightmare and I'm a fan of both.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Compare Martinez and Sherwood. Ask yourself who you would rather have managing Spurs? For me Sherwood would do a reasonable job and probably get us 6th next year. But could he get the team to over-achieve - that is the question, and very few on here, or any other MB will say "Yes, give him a full season and we will come 4th".

That's not fair, tims done a decent jobs results wise and should be given credit for it.... Some of the things he has been quoted on though.... Are a little to dicanio esq for me.

Can we get Martinez though?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

not without paying through the nose and is joining us really a step-up?

yes. in just about every way conceivable.

he comes across as a rather loyal type of bloke though so can't see it happening (unless we were to make Everton an offer they couldn't turn down, which is unlikely)

do bear in mind that Martinez had a pre-season..that shouldnt be overlooked..but yes to answer your question I think Martinez in very savvy and I would love him at the helm...he deserves better than Levy though.
