The transfer thread

So would Mitchell and Tomori be at the top of our "following/monitoring database"?

I can see the value of these players but if you're plotting player matches against an Ange system in a data model then I'm less sure.

It feels like Minsky would be a tight match, and I would assume Muani matches based on what I've read.

I think both clubs won't want loans for Mitchell and Tomori. They'll want to do a deal.
No clue tbh.

...and I'll leave it to the reasonably fresh acquisition team to churn the data and edit the list.

If you read this thread from the end of last week and the numerous hot/conclusive takes on the goalkeeper situation/plan you'll have a little chuckle to yourself, when along comes the leftfield announcement of Kinski and just nullifies any point of such discussion.

(I suppose it's just a bit of fun if you have the time)

Yeah, spot on. The only guarantee in this transfer window is that I will need to google names every week until transfer deadline day.

Wed definitely be stronger but would need to get rid of Richie as he adds little imo.

Also I've realised I'm Johnnie fudging Jackson, what a blast from the past. Had spikey hair and was shhhiiiiiiiiiiit.

When do I become Rory what's his name called with the curtains? Played in the Teddy era..

Edit. Allen.
Stunning goal away to Charlton though!
Amazingly.....he's still only 42! And I feel old.

Just reading the match report is nuts - Davies, Ginger Pele, Konchesky, Carlton Cole, Graeme Stuart,

Moura had 2 good games for us. The CL semi at Ajax and the 3v0 away at Manure.

A massive part of our mediocrity. Head down, running into cul-de-sacs, poor crossing and some terrible goals and assists per game ratios over multiple years. Terrible defender as well. Would just watch his full-back getting exposed before he sprinted back, rather than just get in good defensive positions naturally. Wasted so much energy sprinting the wrong direction.

Had a few moments. I remember being at OT when he scored the brace towards the end of Jose's tenure. Shame he couldn't find consistency in his game, and a shame we played him too much. He was actually a decent sub.

His goal at home to Norwich was quality - and he had some other great finishes too. Was really good in the air considering his height :D

I would take him over our winger options at the moment because he can at least create something on his own, and can strike a ball from distance - Johnson, Werner, even Son not so much. But I have high hopes for Odobert and Moore....

If Moura was a foot taller & strong?
Think that's a pretty good description. Though Moura was rather strong himself.

Kolo Muani is versatile, presses well. Good player. But not the profile we're missing and probably high wages + a fairly high signing option/obligation.

If it has to be an obligation I would be sceptical. A lot of money for someone who doesn't seem a great profile fit.

As a loan with an option, a versatile player, fine if we can't get a target that's a better profile fit.

With the right manager Muani could be potent. I think he is a player that needs effective guidance, but with him deployed effectively he could be impressive. But it seems like there are too many clubs sniffing around for us to prevail. He might end up at the goons which would be frustrating.

He would be a top draw signing - provided we can get the most out of him. I would push the boat out for him as I think he does have elite ability. But he needs pushing, advising etc. He’s not necessarily plug and play.
