Lamptey is the answer to our RWB issues
Absolute class and with an end product unlike Doherty and Royal
We should be all over this guy. Bet his price is premium though

I'd be guarded about signing a young player for big money who has already had serious hamstring injuries. We should be all over this guy. Bet his price is premium though
What's the deal with Corona and Porto? Doesn't seem to have had much time on the pitch lately.I keep saying it in every thread but Corona at Porto is out of contract in the Summer.... Better than just about all the other suggested options and him being Mexican should appeal to Levy in terms of increasing our Social media following.
Another good option would be the Uruguayan, Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari. He is a specialist right midfield player (though can play in several positions). Tenacious, brave, loves a tackle, can beat a player, is good on the ball, uses both feet, is quick (especially over the first few yards) and has a good delivery. Most importantly for a wing back though he has lots of stamina and makes lots of sprints in a game. £15 to £20m gets him I reckon and he would immediately be first choice as a RWB (at which point I would consider moving Royale to RCB).
The football side of our club doesn't appear to be run particularly well.... We settle for a cheap manager in the summer, buy him an expensive right back and left winger, then sack him to bring in a great manager, but one who is wedded to playing with a back 3 and wing backs that immediately renders those two expensive summer players as ineffective.
Regarding your last sentence, I think it works the other way.... I'm not sure how much Conte will commit to the club whilst the club haven't committed to him (i.e. buy him the players he wants). Conte is definitely the very best manager we could ever hope to get. If the club doesn't commit to him with a large transfer budget then he will walk and things will get ugly I think.

I don't get why we are after a new RB unless Doherty is leaving. Push all that money towards a striker.

Conte could even be considering Traore as a last 30 minutes specialist? Emerson defends for 60, then lube up the super sub!A right-back will likely average 45 minutes a game (Conte often subs both WBs, plus they often alternate as starters). A CF will mainly just play when Kane is injured or rested. So it's a potential starter vs a cover position I guess.
I still think an effective playmaker is an even bigger need that everything though.
An interesting point but I'm not sure it is a true one.... At Inter Milan last season Hakimi played 37 Serie A games (starting 29 of them). In the games he started he played the following number of minutes:
90, 90, 90, 78, 90, 71, 80, 90, 90, 90, 82, 90, 90, 90, 90, 90, 83, 90, 84, 88, 90, 90, 90, 90, 79, 90, 90, 90, 57 (Inter Milan had already won the league and were 3-0 up when he was subbed).
In the CL he started 4 games and played the following number of minutes: 90, 90, 63, 85

Sorry mate, I missed this. I think it is because he has told Porto that he isn't renewing his deal there and will leave on a free transfer. He has therefore been frozen out a bit. If we agreed a pre-contract with him now Porto would proabably sell for £5m or so (though I think Twente retained some sort of sell on fee (that could probably be bought off of them if we got him to sign a pre-contract deal as they'd be swapping a definite something for a likely nothing). What's the deal with Corona and Porto? Seems to me Conte has simply been rotating just about everywhere that he has the luxury of rotating. We've had a lot of games and keeping players fresh is hard.I can't remember where I read it, if it was a comments about his time at Chelsea, Inter or Juve. But he's kind of been doing it here with Regullion and Sessegnon, when he can, but obviously doesn't really trust another RB to Royal.
Bedford's Poch comment is more what I had in mind, that there would be a favourite, but that they would still be rotated more than any other positions in the team. Both for preservation and the different tactical mix they bring
