Already voted he should stay. At least one more season which he's earned, imv

maybe you voted he should stay but at the same time are very disappointed that he didnt take the England job, and you were very vocal in your criticism of him towards the end of the season and on more than a few occasions were demanading him to be sacked....so i dont see how you can now say he's earned one more season:)

Because we pulled it together and finished 4th - that is a successful season

pulled it together??by beating Bolton, Blackburn and Fulham in 3 of the last 4 games?

ok

anyway, how about offering Hodgson a bit of this generosity and let him settle into the job before launching any attacks on him? He doesnt have a wealth of talent to choose from, plus international football is no longer the be all and end all to English footballers, so Hodgson does have a tough job ahead of him just as Redknapp would have had he got the gig. Any new manager deserves more than a few games under their belt before the criticisms start flying in from all corners.

On current form we could have lost all those games.

Anyway - back to England - very, very questionable squad selection, imv and choice of captain. Early signs aren't promising but let's see what pans out.

Are you saying Woy would've done better indianspur?

do we also take into account the imlosion at Liverpool, the selling off of the top players and buying rubbish at Arse, and the constant disruption in manangement at Chelsea?

If yes to the above then, who knows, maybe having the chance to work with the talent at Tottenham, a chairman like Levy, and yes he could have done just as good a job.

If like ArcpacE says, when a certain system, structure, talented players are in situ, then it takes very little to put the final jigsaw into place

if arry left tomorrow hodgson wouldn't be anywhere near the shortlist for the spurs job. i think that says it all. in fact 99% of people on here would be horrified if he was even considered.

In addition - sincerely doubt he'd be considered for a Top 8 job in the future unless he pulls of a small miracle next month

as horrified as many were when Redknapp got the Tottenham job.....he wasnt on anyone's shortlist either back then

it was the end of october, we were in dire straits and we needed someone who could start immediately. it was either him or big fat sam at the time.

i like many others wasn't that keen on him but that was mainly cos of the sort of bloke he is rather than for footballing reasons

If breaking into the Sky 4 is that simple then why haven't Villa, Everton, Saudi Sportswashing Machine etc managed it?

if they had Modric and Bale for the last 3 years maybe they would have done better

Pardew has transformed Saudi Sportswashing Machine into a top 5 club, finished above Chelsea, almost on par with Spurs and Arsenal, and done it all within 1 and half years....miracles can happen

he's done nothing at all at the top level in england. has he actually ever managed a team to a top 6 finish ? possibly once at blackburn before helping to get them relegated the following year.

he's an organiser of mediocre teams that's all. suppose you could say he's a perfect fit for england then. i know arry isn't everyone's cup of tea but he's in front of hodgson all day long surely. west ham, portsmouth and us have all had their best spells in years under his management.

So have WBA and Fulham with Hodgson? Fulham highest ever finish and then turned over a lot of decent sides on way to the Uefa Cup final. WBA also had their highest finish under him for about 30 years. And why only count England? Are Inter Milan not top level in Italy? 7th and 3rd from taking over in 13th. Redknapp has also had his failures. He went down with Southampton and then had them nowhere near even the play-offs the following season. A somewhat worse performance than Hodgson at Blackburn! He also had a very poor spell at West Ham when he wasted the vast Rio Ferdinand fee on absolute dross. They went from 5th to 9th and then 15th in his last season. Graham's dire Tottenham team, minus Ginola, turned them over 3-2 at Upton Park in the Cup Quarter Final.

I don't see how their is much between their records at all, quite frankly. Except Redknapp had the fortune to come into his big break job at Spurs inheriting a squad that was basically top 6 bar a couple of decent forwards. I'd rather Redknapp as Hodgson hasn't quite done anything as exceptional compared to what Harry has done at Spurs but pre-Tottenham there is hardly anything between them. One major trophy for Redknapp, one top six finish a piece and Redknapp has had far more years managing in England than Hodgson!
