The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

Head-to-head

Prior to thrashing the Swans 5-0 in February, Liverpool had failed to even score against the Swans in their previous three Premier League matches - two 0-0 draws and a 1-0 defeat.
The last time Swansea lost to Liverpool before that was an 8-0 away defeat in an FA Cup third-round replay in January 1990. This remains Swansea's joint-highest defeat.
This is the 33rd meeting between the sides. Liverpool have won 16 times, Swansea nine and there have been seven draws.

Swansea

By beating West Brom in their last match, Swansea avoided setting a new club record of five top-flight defeats in a row.
After three matches this season, Chico had made 33 clearances, a joint high with West Ham's Winston Reid.
They have won none and lost four of their last six Premier League home games.

Liverpool

Never before has a top-flight team started with three 1-0 wins courtesy of the same goalscorer (Daniel Sturridge) like Liverpool have. The last time a top-flight team began with three 1-0 wins, regardless of the scorer, was Huddersfield in 1920.
It is the first season since 1994-95 when Roy Evans was in charge that Liverpool have started the season with three consecutive wins, they have never achieved four in the Premier League.
Daniel Sturridge is the first player since Robbie Fowler in that 1994-95 season to score in Liverpool's opening three league games.
Liverpool attempted just two crosses from open play against Manchester United, the fewest ever in a Premier League game since Opta have collected this particular type of data (2003-04).
Liverpool are one victory away from sealing their 400th win in the Premier League.

No surprise-Sturridge starts.

I wonder what punishment Atkinson got for his numerous terrible decisions on saturday

Sunderland head coach Paolo Di Canio has been fined £8,000 by the FA, having accepted a charge of misconduct following his side's 3-1 loss at home to Arsenal on Saturday.

Di Canio clashed with referee Martin Atkinson towards the end of the Premier League fixture because he was angered by perceived Arsenal time-wasting and an earlier refereeing decision.

The Italian was eventually sent to the stand by Atkinson and informed the media after the match: "I said (to Atkinson), 'if you want to complete a perfect job, you can send me off'.

"He took it seriously and sent me off."

Paolo Di Canio says he was pleased with his Sunderland side's second half performance despite losing 3-1 to Arsenal.

Atkinson had infuriated Di Canio earlier in the match by disallowing a Jozy Altidore goal which would have made it 2-2, pulling the game back for an earlier foul on the forward by Bacary Sagna when he could have played the advantage.

And an FA statement on Monday read: "Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio has been fined the standard penalty of £8,000 after he admitted an FA misconduct charge in relation to his behaviour during his side's game against Arsenal."

Listening to Carragher on Sky gives me a nose bleed. "Err, err, you know, eer, you know". ](*,).

Be nice if Swansea could give the bin dippers a good spanking tonight.

Bet the media dont rant on about Liverpool being a one-man team, like they did with us when Bale scored 3 or 4 matches on the bounce

Moses on fire.

Swansea waltzing through Liverpool's midfield. Bony shoulda done better. Game livening up.
