Forget about corner routines. Why don't teams put a man to cover the far posts during freekicks ? Is it not allowed nowadays ? It seems silly when you don't put a man to cover the far posts when you know freekick specialists like Baines always scores from freekicks.

It is not as bad as when the goal keeper becomes useless and forced to watch the ball go into the empty far post. We have seen those scenarios too many times this season. Fortunately, it is not against us yet. Would prefer us to guard the far post instead of hoping the ball won't go there.

We didn't see a replay, but on a single viewing that was not a good challenge by Milner on HT there. At the upper end of yellows I'd have thought, at least on first sight.

He also dropped Mata, didn't he.:lol: Don't think any other manager in the PL would do that. I really think Mourinho has lost his magic touch of old since winning the league title with Real 2 years ago.

Not many teams will take anything from the Lane this season. Like us Chelsea still haven't found their best team.

I think he does things simply to draw attention to himself. He's arrogant enough to think he can win the league without Mata and Lukaku therefore giving Mourinho more kudos.

But surely, that diminishes from his achieving a Premiership title, if it's recognised that he can't judge the ability of his players successfully.

If he didn't have top end players, but won the league, then he would get respect. But, he has had these players and chosen to loan/not use them.

He did at Real Madrid too, he fell out with Ramos and Casillas. He creates factions in the dressing room.

It would be understandable if Mata and Lukaku had massive egos and were all about themselves, but they're not. Mata is one of the only likeable Chelsea players and seems like a decent guy and humble (not that I've met him) when he's interviewed.
