I will never change my opinion of them. Never. And would never support them against any other team except Arse

Not quite done yet then.

Unwillingness to change opinion regardless of evidence presented is for me at least very close to the definition of irrationality.

That at least leaves this discussion ended as there is nothing more to discuss without the basis of rationality.

You have not (and cannot) present any evidence to suggest the media doesn't unfluence the general public and opponents as far as the 'greatest team in the world' goes

Well if anything, at least this toss fest of a team stopped Arsenal winning the Champions League, something we would never hear the last of, and spanked them a couple of times in the knockout phases too. I can't help but respect them just for that :)

I haven't argued that the media don't influence the general public, no idea where that came from. It probably even influences the opponents in one way or another, all I've said is that I think you overestimate the influence of it and how much of Barca's success is a result of that media attention. I have not seen one piece of evidence to suggest that you're right.

Not that it really matters, cause evidence seemingly doesn't influence your opinion.

It would if any reasonable one was presented (in any given debate for that matter).

If you agree (even to a lesser degree) that the media influenecs opponents then it's time for a beer and a rest

That sentence is incompatible with "I will never change my opinion"

On the rest part I agree, slightly early for a beer yet for me unfortunately...

Sorry, fella.........I don't mean any offence (because I enjoy your posts normally), but do we really need a thread about a potential signing by that lot?

If it must be posted at all, can't it just be in the transfer rumour thread?

Mods. You know what to do......!

Whose 'complimentary' system is as good as barcelonas arc? I know the media go OTT but there's a reason...they are worlds apart from anyone else.

As I already mentioned - at the moment Read Madrid's attacking prowess is mesmerising. They're absolutely devastating at speed and personally I enjoy that more.

I can't believe someone like you, who I respect and knows his football, enjoys watching the thuggery of Madrid more than barcelonas total football. I don't need the media to tell me anything btw Barcelona play the best football I've ever seen madrids don't come anywhere near.

I don't understand why some people [not a personal dig at anyone!] are so focused on keeping things in one thread... large threads like the Arsenal one go off on all sorts of tangents and often contain pages and pages of internet-bickering; IMO it's nice to have different threads for more specific things.

But not Arsenal things.
