The Goon Thread

They could get Draxler if they put up an offer of about £40-45 mill, I guess. But he has recently signed a new contract, and I think I read somewhere that he by that rejected a possible switch to City or RM. He's a brilliant talent, of course not the finished article, but is a quite a bit better than Bale when he was 19.
About the RM players, I cant see them selling three players. They've already sold Higuain and Callejon to Napoli. Di Maria could be the one they sell. I guess a bid of £30-35 mill would be good enough for them to sell. Di Maria is like a rollercoaster. World class when he's on fire, sadly for him he is quite a big cry boy, and dives a lot. He will though be a very good signing for them.

I do love some of the comments on that forum haha

I think we'll beat them, 2-0.
They haven't impressed me at all. Their midfield passes the ball like Stoke and their attack hasn't clicked yet after losing their biggest threat.

Our first XI's better than theirs so as long as we avoid injuries and **** decisions I think we'll win it.

I think Wenger got it spot on in his press conference, too many new faces can be counter productive. They've bought a lot of prospects, but none of them would walk into our 1st team (I would not swap any of their acquisitions for our core of 15 regular 1st team players).
Our squad is lacking numbers but the first team is better that Spurs' and they know each other very well. Hopefully Giroud can get a couple of Sunday, 3-1 Arsenal

Erikson, much like Holtby, fell off hard as a prospect. He is nothing close to the quality we're looking for. Would be dross here

Just **** these tools, sick of the media being up their **** every minute of the day, they need putting in their place

Spurs are nothing. Winning on Pen's so far. Disgrace of a club

Not worried at all by this game :
Ramsey and Cazorla are on fire
Jack, Theo and Bac know how important this NLD is.
Have you seen Spurs playing recently?
Giroud will score.
Kos will be back

Didn't Özil turn **** down last week? I can't see them selling Benzema and Di Maria, who are both regular starters. Would not make any sense. It wouldn't surprise me if Le **** pulled a few rabbits out of the hat on the last day though.

hahaha Charlie Nicholas basically slating us for making 7 absolute quality signings, what a ****ing **** he really is, him and phil thompson are utter bell-ends

Complete macaron. Talking about how 6 months down the line AVB will be under pressure if it isn't going well and how unfair it is when they are all Levy signings that the manager has had forced on him. He is so transparent and ill informed. Does he not realise that we have a DoF that AVB wanted?

then moaned that AFc dont have quality cover but 10 mins earlier he was slating us for doing exactly that

I suspect the reason for the differing conclusion from their analysis of Spurs and Arsenal is that they want Arsenal to be a big successful club. In Spurs case, we should know our place and aim to be a West Ham type feeder club developing young English talents for Man Utd and Chelsea. For us to be trying to challenge the top 3 clubs is obscene.

In fairness. Imagine if you'd logged into this place in May and read some bloke claiming that Soldado, Paulinho, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Capoue and Chiriches would all sign before deadline day. That on top of that, we would very narrowly miss out on David Villa and Willian; were realistically negotiating for Coentrao and had high expectations of one more surprise, high-quality signing...

The word "deluded" would definitely spring to mind.

If Arsenal fail to make three top quality, near-world-class signings before Tuesday I will be very very happy indeed. But they will. Let's not be deluded about that.

It could backfire, but we needed a striker and have done for years - Soldado

We needed goals from midfield- Paulinho

A replacement for Bale- Lamela

Creativity behind the striker- Eriksen (probably means Sig will be sold)

A replacement for Caulker- Chiriches, although it's arguable we didn't need to sell Caulker in the first place

Parker just isn't good enough anymore so he needed replacing- Capoue

The only one you could argue we didn't essentially need was Chadli.

I know i'd rather us buy players and strengthen our squad compared to their strategy of picking up French players who were released by their clubs and **** all else...so far.

Chadli was to replace Dempsey no? Who played a lot on the left, and we needed to replace when we sold him.

Yeah but I was just making a case that he was the only one we didn't necessarily need. Sig or Dembele could play on the wings, plus Townsend is back.

Soldado, Paulinho, Lamela and Eriksen were essential IMO.

If you are planning to stick dembele out where he isn't suited I'd say Chadli was just as essential.

IMO paulinho was not essential considering the wealth of midfield talent we have.

Edit: not that I don't want him, he looks good.
