The Goon Thread

Personally I'd rather have someone who'd score goals rather than create goals for others to hopefully finish. Each would have their suited games, imv

Different strokes, I guess

That's Gareth Bale, good sir

Not sure if Hazard is a similar mould - perhaps someone informed could comment on that

Wilsheare has suffered a suffered a stress fracture and will be out for a while

And Emirates favorite Arshavin has rejected a switch back to Russia, because he still thinks he has things to do at Arsenal and want to win something with them

Oh happy days...

Good to hear that Wheelchair has had a mishap - hopefully that will be him out for the rest of season as he seems to give them a lift as the solitary hope that they might achieve anything.
Be so funny to hear the excuse come May that the reason they underachieved so badly was because a 20 yr old was out for the season.

Well how has the super strong midfield done so far? I make them 13pts behind us.

Arteta - Very good player
Ramsey - Good on a rare occasion
Wiltshire - Good, majorly overhyped, and out for the season
Benayoun - Average
Rosicky - Complete and utter sh#t
Coquelin - Decent
Song - Very Good
Djourou - Average
Walcott - Sh#t
Arshavin - Sh#t
Gervinho - Average
Oxlade Chamberlain - Another hungry kid, getting overhyped

Dont see that as massive depth at all. Why do you belittle Livermore and Krancjar, but laud Rosicky and Djourou?

You forgot the great Frimpong who's better than Sandro according to Arsenal fans. Ramsey is a good footballer, but he doesn't have enough influence on the game and can't shoot. He'd do great at somewhere like Swansea. Song is a very good player. The Arsenal fans I know are finally coming round to the conventional wisdom that Walcott is brick.

As for Djorou, Rosicky, Benayoun..... I'm not even going to dignify their valuations of those players with a response.

Its just laughable isnt it. Arsenal....a better midfield than Spurs?!

Walcott as good as/better than Lennon!!

:ross:

And people have the nerve to talk about tinted specs.....should take their d#cks out of the arse more like..

Im not saying their midfield is stronger than ours. We definitely beat them in that respect and I really rate for Niko and Livermore.
I genuinely believe that if you stuck Krancjar in uniteds midfield or liverpools midfield he'd be their best player in the 10 role.

All i'm saying is that Injuries to Arsenal's midfield first choice don't really affect them that much. Their second string is much closer in similarity to their first string; therefore they don't need to adapt their tactics much. For example we lose Bale and Lennon we lose any pace we have in the side. The scum have Chamberlain to replace Walcott and Arshavin to replace Gervinho. They lose Arteta, they put in Benayoun; they lose Wheelchair they put in Ramsey. Its a testament to how strong our first team is; but also to how different our second string players are to our first team. Livermore and Krancjar would walk into most midfields outside the top six; but compare them to Parker/Sandro and Modric it is a drop in quality.

You forgot the great Frimpong.

Easily done.

Ramsey is a very good footballer, however he's come back from a longterm injury and he's carried the Arsenal midfield all season single handed. Now he looks knackered. If he picks up and injury they'll be knackered.

So after the big fanfare about Henry he scores against a tired championship team and then does sweet fuk all - long may it continue

really don't know what they were expecting..

He's past it physically and unless he's gifted a one-on-one with the keeper he'll create the same number of chances i do. Henry?? what is he like 40?

I would quite happily say that Ramsey is closer to O'Hara than he is to Fabregas by some distance.

Arsenal down to 7th.

Ha Ha
