The Goon Thread

No I am serious, lol.

If he joins either of the mancs they'll likely get much better out of him than Arsenal and get much further away from us. Plus Arsenal have strikers now anyway, so wont be as reliant on him anyway (also hoping for dressing-room fireworks but anyway...)

Ideally he'd be sold abroad

Ashley Cole joined Twitter on Sunday, and he's already used the social networking site to have a pop at former club Arsenal.

Within 12 hours of joining the site the Chelsea defender replied to taunts from Arsenal fans, among them Piers Morgan, by boasting about the number of trophies he has won since leaving the Emirates for Stamford Bridge in 2006.

Fans of the Gunners bombarded Cole's profile with abusive tweets as soon as the England left-back joined the site, as many of the Arsenal faithful have struggled to forgive Cole for his move to their London rivals.

Cole has won 11 major club trophies in his career, and he responded to the taunts with a boast of his own.

He gloated about the fact that, while Chelsea had won a number of competitions since 2006, Arsenal had won nothing in the same period.

In fact Arsenal haven't lifted any silverware - of any note - since beating Manchester United in the 2005 FA Cup Final, a fact which Cole seemed to enjoy reminding fans of his former club.

He tweeted: 'I am what I am!!! Winnerrr!!!! Hahahahahahah, 11 to me 0 for you!!! http://yfrog.com/h7i4jsoj'

Accompanied with a photograph of him in the dressing room in Munich after Chelsea's Champions League triumph in May.

He then tweeted to Morgan, who had called the defender 'Cashley' in reference to him leaving Arsenal for a pay hike at Chelsea.

Cole retorted: '@TheRealAC3 @piersmorgan Guess Whos winning... !! pic.twitter.com/FlFL7cjM'

Accompanied with a mocked up graphic of all seven trophies Cole had acquired whilst in Chelsea blue.

Alongside the Arsenal crest is a sparse blue space, denoting how many trophies the Gunners have won in the same time period.

Cole later tweeted of those he repeatedly gloated at: 'tut tut tut, love to give it out but cant take it when the truth is told, babies!!!! thought people on here had sense of humour!!!!!'

He also used the site to interact with football friends Wayne Rooney, Joleon Lescott and Nigel de Jong, and tweeted a photo of Chelsea stretching in Central Park earlier on Sunday.

Anyone thinking Modric is a **** needs to think again.

Grew some respect for Cole there. He's right, Arsenal fans LOVE to give it out until they a proven wrong with there deluded talk.

if there's one thing which tinkles me off these days it's newspapers reporting on what happens on Twitter

If RVP leaving happens AND turns out to be the only other transfer business the scum make, how to people see them doing next season?

I'm pretty sure they're going to make another two signings unfortunately. M'Vila and Cazorla or other similar players if they prove too expensive, but they seem to be the primary targets.

didnt they agree everything with M'Vila before pulling out?

F-Me; if they buy those two, they might go beyond our reach again....

RE Ashley Cole on Twitter:

Dunno, just seems very disrespectful to me. A bit like the Adebayor slide in the City-Arsenal game, it just feels very very out of touch with what the average football fan experiences in their life.

If Carrick was mocking THFC for all he'd won since leaving, or if Berbatov ran the length of the pitch to do that to us after chasing the dollar it would feel very very wrong, the blood would be boiling, and I'd want them banned from football. But cos its Arsenal, it's easy to not see how harsh it is!

I think if it were a private bit of banter between Cole and RVP it would be different, but Twitter is public, it's at the fans, and it doesn't seem very fair. Cole was in a win-win situation, he has the talent and the money to do what he wants, but it's harsh on a fan who spends a lot of his money following his club in frustrating times, even if he is a gooner.

But remember the Gooner fans were GOANING HIM first...so like was said above, if they can't take it, then they shouldn't dish it

The Carrick/berbatov situations would be similar. If spurs fans took the tinkle and goaded him.

I don't think they do.

It'd be the same if we said to Carrick and Berbatov that they left for money which Arsenal fans do to Cole (calling him Cashley etc). We understood Carrick and Berbatov left us for the best team in the league and one of the best teams in the world, we knew they'd win trophies.

Cole says he left to win things (although probably for money too obviously) and that is exactly what he has done.
