The term “in transition” gets used a bit flippantly sometimes but we well and truly are a team in transition in every sense of the word.

This is bang on. Some have been encouraged by our transfer business so far and I'm hopeful our first 11 will be improved when everyone is available but our squad depth is awful. As you point out some of our better squad options have departed but we are still left with the utter dross that no one wants.

Plus the jury is still out on the likes of Lo Celso, Tanguy, Doherty, Bergwijn....they all need to come good to give any sort of squad depth at all.

Understand but if you add:

- Tomiyasu, Romero and another CB at the back
- GLC and Ndombele as options in midfield
- Kane, Gil and a back-up CF up front

...you have a vastly different proposition
 
It's not only Poch's fault, but our transfer business under him wasn't good. And we spent money. Yes we had the stadium skint years, but we still spent tens of millions with little to show for it.

Moura, Aurier at times...who else has done well?
