The General Transfer Rumours and Speculation Thread

not sure but could we be having difficulty offloading players ? who replaces baldini in this role?

John McDermott took on most of his portfolio.

Prices go up towards the end of the window, so it might be a strategic decision not to sell too early.

Anyone getting concern about the amount of turnover in our squad? I thought this summer was going to see a low level of change, so settled squad for next year

We've signed two though, the French dude seems nailed on and if Bentaleb and Mason are off, then we need cover for Dembele so that's 4 coming in. Malli looks more like a no 10 rather than CM, so that might be 5...appreciate some of the rumours might be rubbish but it does look like we could bring in 5

Judging by the recent comments from Poch, mason will be staying and benteleb will be going.

It would appear the midfield next season will be wanyama, dier, dembele, mason, malli, alli, eriksen, lamela, son and n'koudou.

I would therefore expect carroll, benteleb, chadli, pritchard and n'jie to all leave the club.

If the above happens the only real signicant turnover if you like, would be n'koudou for chadli, as malli would be a significant upgrade on what was there before him (injured or average young players) and wanyama fills a hole in the squad.

Therefore I wouldn't be worried about turnover too much.

Tottenham Hotspur are once again interested in signing Wissam Ben Yedder, according to French media outlet Canal+, via the Hertfordshire Mercury, which may see them enter a three-way London battle for the Toulouse star.

Both Arsenal and West Ham are also said to be considering Ben Yedder, according to one of Canal+'s African football experts, Ludo Deroin, as reported by Get French Football News.

The Toulouse forward has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with reports earlier in the year from the likes of the Mirror suggesting Tottenham held a serious interest in the Frenchman.

Since then, Spurs spent a decent amount of money on Netherlands international Vincent Janssen, who is very much a like for like replacement for main man Harry Kane.

However, neither forward are renowned for their pace, and that is something that Ben Yedder has in abundance.

The 25-year-old netted 23 goals in 41 matches last season, his best ever campaign, and the forward has 71 goals in four seasons as a first choice player for the Ligue 1 outfit.

West Ham have been looking for a top class striker to join their squad for much of the summer, which has seen a plethora of players linked and several disappointing no-goes.

Ben Yedder, a target just last week say the Guardian, may represent an excellent option for Slaven Bilic's side, as they look to add a proven goalscorer to compliment Andy Carroll.

They may also have a chance of beating Spurs to the player's signature if they can offer first-team football to Ben Yedder, who would surely revel at being on the end of Dimitri Payet's creativity.

Arsenal's interest stems from their inability to secure the signing of other attacking targets, with a long-term injury to Danny Welbeck impacting their forward ranks.

How exactly has John Stones value gone UP after the season he had last campaign?! Chelsea bid £26m, £28m and £30m, so his value has supposedly gone up a further £20m! Emirates Marketing Project are absolute mugs if they pay that for him. The defender who can do everything except defend.

I am more than happy if we play 2 games against City and they have Stones & Otamendi at centre half, there is at least a couple of brain farts in that partnership per game.

Fits right in with Mangala and Otamendi then. All equally expensive and utterly useless.

His value hasn't gone up because of his performance it's gone up because everyone is loaded off the back of the TV deal

Wow he is turning into a wheeler dealer that would make Arry proud

The difference is Poch is signing players who are young, talented, ambitious and with a future, most of " rent a quote ' signings over the years have been of aged, past their best and mostly players whose agents are pals of his.
