The all new Striker thread..

Not in the UK as far as I know - in fact, Marca are quoting SSN here

Yesterday morning

Real, however, have indicated that they are willing to restructure the deal to guarantee Tottenham closer to £35 million and Modric is now finally expected in Madrid in the next 48 hours for a medical and to agree personal terms.

Sky broke this 23 minutes later

Which doesnt even mention him going out to finalise the deal

Yesterday evening

But Real have told Tottenham officials they are now willing to increase the cash portion of the fee — and are confident the deal can be concluded by the weekend, with Modric due to fly to Spain in the next 48 hours.

As I have already accepted -

If SSN broke it first, fair play. They didnt though, and aside from their transfer deadline day work never do IMO

On deadline day they throw so many bodies at it, have so many clubs and agents in constant communication they are indeed excellent at nailing potential deals.

Any other time? I cant recall the last 'exclusive' of theirs that wasnt widely reported before hand. Through the window they are no better than the BBC gossip column mixed with the ITK rubbish.

Remember their claims a few weeks ago of Adebayor signing imminently after the clubs had agreed a fee? Hardly reliable...

Yes - I started a thread which was subsequently locked, and I still believe we HAD agreed a deal with them (as suggested in the piece) while wages became a problem at some point (which is bizarre considering by then, and by having him with us for 1 year - we should have been familiar with his demands to say the least)

Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur said: “We are very pleased to welcome Betfred.com as the Club’s new Official UK Betting Partner and are looking forward to working with them over the course of the coming three years to help drive their UK business.”

Commenting on the deal, Betfred.com, Managing Director, Chris Sheffield spoke of the benefits for Spurs supporters that will arise from the new partnership: “We’re delighted to enter a partnership with Tottenham Hotspur and we are determined to offer their supporters the best value all-round betting experience we can.

“Football fans up and down the country are already taking advantage of our great value offers and markets like Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven and Goals Galore and now Spurs fans are getting even more with top industry prices and season-long specials exclusively for them.”
................
wont be seeing much of them with the lack of striking talent at the club

Interesting...does that mean we'll be getting rid of the Ladbrokes' inside White Hart Lane?

Lots of differing opinions on here regarding the strikers we are linked to, so let's see who likes who the most.

lol at soldado having twice the votes as villa, should just stop the vote now, its obviously a tinkle take.

Leandro for me.

He and Soldado are the type of forward we need, but Leandro edges it for me mainly because of his age (and a niggling feeling that Soldado might Morientes here).

I'd like Villa too, but as an inside forward/instead of a wide player, not as our main #9.
