I like Livermore and you make a good point - look at the top teams - they have their star players but for every Rooney, nani and giggs there's a fletcher or Evans who can come in , plug gaps and do an effective job without moaning about spending time on the bench

Indeed...I think SAF would tell you that a fit Fletcher would've been the diff for him, and nobody's going to tell me that Milner and De Jong weren't very very important to Emirates Marketing Project...
 
Spanish TVE 1 news has just said that Tottenham will accelerate the sale of Modric over the weekend as they have come to an agreement with Bilbao to sign Llorente. Not a wind up.

Good old Lee Barnard plays for Southampton now. Has scored 23 goals in 62 games. He always scored a lot for the reserves. Ironically, the only game I saw him play was a reserves match against Southampton at Broadhall Way back in 2006.

Cheapest of the options out there, if price being quoted is accurate. The bigger boys, however, will probably be favorites, especially given Llorente's apparent desire to only leave for Champions League football. Sigh.
