If that's how we end up (with players such as Jenas, Bentley, Dos Santos, Gallas and Defoe all shipped out to help fund the incoming targets) then I won't be complaining
 
From what I've read, Stekelenburg and Julio Cesar are not happening, Butland isn't fancied and Dzagoev is just agent talk.

I'm not so much worried about strikers then as I am concerned that we won't learn from our biggest mistake of last season which was not signing a winger... Can't think of anyone else who we've been linked with apart from Krasic who we've already missed the boat on.
 
You won't be complaining if we buy Verts Siggy Damiao Ade Dzagoev Moutinho and Lloris in the same window? What kind of signings would make you have positive thoughts as opposed to not complaining?

I'd also take a shot at a signing or loan for Tello or Rafinha from Barca. (let the trashing of my ideas begin)

i like these ideas. but am niot a fan of sturridge at he expense of lennon

Remy, Adrian, Hulk, Mueller, Sturridge, Walcott, Dzagoev, Oscar, Afellay, G.Ramirez, Wellington Nem have all been linked at one time or another.

Not sure if you're aware but the use of the term "I won't be complaining" when used in the context of a sentence containing the prefix of a specified event occurring doesn't usually suggest that the person making the statement would necessarily complain in the event that the previously stated event didn't come to fruition ;)

See I wouldn't count Remy as a winger but from that list I'd like Hulk or Sturridge.

But joking aside if we say that Vertonghen was King's replacement and that Sigurdsson replaced Kranjcar or Pienaar then we still need to replace other players who have left since last season. So long as we make adequate replacements I'll be happy. The players who need replacing are Adebayor, Pavlyuchenko, Kranjcar, Pienaar, Corluka, King. In addition to these I'd like to see the following players leave and be replaced. Bentley, Jenas, Gomes, Cudicini. Then there are the following who I'd prefer to be replaced but would be happy for them to stay. Defoe, Gallas, Dos Santos.

BUT if we don't sign someone who can challenge Lennon/Bale then I won't be happy as I've been moaning about it for nearly a year!
 
We had too many players to fit in a 25-man squad, so some will have to go unreplaced. We've also got Naughton and Caulker back from loan.
 
So Valencia is our last Pre season game tomorrow which tells me unless we sign Ade we will be starting the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game with Defoe up top.
 
Alvaro Pereira's agent is to hold 'important' talks with Porto as mounting speculation suggests the defender is on his way to Chelsea.

The Uruguay international has been a target for the Blues for some time, with the Premier League outfit first making their interest known last summer.

The presence of former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas at Stamford Bridge helped to fuel an endless round of rumours, but the London-based outfit remain keen despite a change in the dugout.

Roberto Di Matteo is a fan of Pereira and believes he could be a useful addition to his ranks.

Meeting

The 26-year-old is very much a modern day full-back and is as comfortable bombing forward as he is defending his own goal.

Porto are fully aware of the reports linking their South American star with a move to England and are due to discuss the matter with Pereira's representative in the coming days.

"We are due to hold an important meeting with Porto, but I do not want to speculate on what the outcome will be," Alejandro Savich told Maisfutebol.

Reports in Portugal suggest Pereira could leave on an initial loan deal, with the view to a permanent agreement being struck next summer.

I'm talking about 14 players leaving to be replaced with 7 plus Naughton and Caulker. Not OTT IMO
