Coulibaly has scored twice so far in our friendly vs northampton, id much rather have him as our young option than Kane...looking very promising

Different type of player. Coulibaly is a Defoe type, shoot on site. Kane looks more the type to lead the line

Regardless of whether his information is good, jjetset clearly seems to be of the opinion that major investment in the club is forthcoming. That's the only logical interpretation of his multiple twitter orgasm.

And I'd guess that the signing he previously "pooh-poohed", but which he now believes to be attainable, is Falcao.

never gonna happen

imo

and even if anyone decided to invest in Spurs, we can be sure that the paperwork will be signed and everything agreed on or just after Sept 1st

I doubt it.

If anyone was interested in investing heavily in Spurs, they would certainly want their investment to have an immediate effect.

Remember when Mansour bought City? The deal was only completed on 31st August. But they still managed to sign Zabaleta and Robinho, while having a cheeky pop at stealing Berbatov from under Utd's noses as well.

i said it tongue in cheek

it would just be our luck if you know what i mean

anyway, the only investment i see is to help with the stadium build. To help buy superstar strikers??? I do not see it, unless it was a full takeover

Over the last 5 seasons we have spent 6 million pounds a season net, personally I think that is paltry

And 40m on a new training complex and probably the same again on land around the stadium and also plannings, drawings, fees, architects, failed stratford move (I don't know the real figure) etc etc

More like £65 million on property / stadium planning thus far.

so if we have been short of money in recent transfer windows, we should have, and now definitely need to, adjust our sights regarding targets.

forget about Hazard, about Aguero, about Lloris, Rossi, Llorente, Remy, Damiao etc....just like with Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, we need concentrate to sub 10 mill signings and find the best bargains possible

I actually have some genuine knowledge about the state of finance at THFC as my Mrs works for a solicitors firm in Leeds that represents a major global financial firm who happen to have major dealings with THFC. My Mrs has worked personally on several cases involving THFC.

Unfortunately, I can't disclose ANYTHING as it will get back to my Mrs.

Suffice to say transfer incomings/outgoings (purely in terms of fees reported by the papers) are way off the mark. Your 'net spend' and 'position on trading' is also way off the mark.

The problem is that your calculations are A) based on what has been reported in terms of fees and also B) even if the figures are accurate in tems of fees, the financial spend in terms of acquiring players involves a lot more and to say your calculations are overly simplistic doesn't really do it justice.

I will say one thing and I don't know if it did or did not influence the eventual decision, but Spurs spending on agent fees increased MASSIVELY under Redknapp. I can't emphasise this enough. Spurs actually disputed several of the fees incurred too and ended up in court on more than 1 occasion. That's all I can say that is all!

I can certainly believe this. Even in the papers, I remember seeing us in the top two in terms of agent fees last season - and I was shocked because we had barely bought anyone! However under Harry we were doing deals for freebies or near-freebies like Gallas and Pienaar and I would assume signing-on fees and agent fees would be relatively high in those cases, to make up for the lower/non-existent transfer fees.

So exactly the same as the Ade deal.. :p

If Arse do get in Sahin, that would corroborate the ITK I have heard that Wheelchair's injury is far worse than reported. Arse don't really expect him to be able to return to the same level again.

But we will see....

The thing with Sahin is that it would seem from the decent ITKs that Sahin was offered by R.Madrid, but turned down by AVB. AVB and Mourinho go way back and I'm sure they've talked about him. Strange...Mourinho appears not to rate him much having bought him and had the privilege of working with him, and his protege doesn't seem keen either. Is it his attitude to training? Has his development stalled? I don't know but it appears that he is certainly surplus to requirements at Real and from some recent quotes, Mourinho would prefer to keep Kaka over him?
