The last paragrah could have been written about Gallas and Ade, mind you - and is speculative at best and shockorama at worst. All about the right context, imv - becoming a qunt around qunts and vice-versa, etc.
Hardly!
While Gallas and Ade had a history of being moany gits I don't think they ever broke a teammates jaw, beat up their girlfriends or smashed a glass in someones face for starters!
Or injured themselves falling of a bar stool because they were to drink to sit up straight.
wouldn't even consider him for that. He has terrible positional sense, poor first touch and basically just an outlet to hoof the ball up to. Should've kept Crouch if that's what we want. He'd be a decent backup for Ade.
But not for anything above 10m really, which is where the sticking point would be.
Man... seriously, who brought up Andy Carroll.. this transfer window has just about reached rock bottom!
fudging hell arc I wouldn't want him anywhere near our squad!!!!
No idea on Borinni in all honesty, just basing it on the "if he does what he was bought to do" premise.
Gerrard is, IMO, a wildly over rated player. BUT he is "Mr Liverpool" and he WILL play. If he has to play thats the only place he has been consistently effective IMO.
Arc, There are other options besides ''Stick with Defoe/Kane'' or go for Carroll

Borini is a pretty handy player IMO. His most notable attributes are his work-rate and movement, these are the things that will endear him to Liverpool fans and make him important to Rodgers' system - he'll always find space to receive the ball. he's also a pretty tidy finisher, but most of his Roma goals came from the left side of the pitch, it'll be interesting to see whether he's deployed as the central striker or a wide forward, personally I think they could do with a bit more of a presence up front. Never seen him as a particularly talented passer, he has a tendency to be over-ambitious but this is probably something that'll go with experience.
He worked with Rodgers at the Chelsea academy and at Swansea while in the Championship so the two know each other very well. In this respect it's a safe signing to guarantee a move towards Rodgers' brand of football, but I am getting the impression that Rodgers doesn't have the knowledge of the global game to find quality players that match his blueprint, hence the lack of signings/ bids for past players in Borini and Allen.
Either way, I think Borini is an astute signing. He probably won't light up the league with goals or assists (especially if he plays out wide), but he will be key in moving Liverpool to a more possession-centred pattern of play.
I agree, but I think Arc's made a point. We shouldn't write off Carroll for anything other than footballing reasons, he hasn't done anything off the pitch (aside from breaking someone's jaw, which is the first I've heard of that - what happened?) to warrant keeping him away from the club. Ledley was getting legless regularly at Faces and we all still loved him cos he put in incredible performances. Now I'm not saying that Carroll is Ledley, but Carroll (as for many other players with dubious off-field records), can certainly bring a lot to the squad in its current state. I would be infinitely happier with Carroll up front than with Defoe or Kane.
While he would unquestionably strengthen our squad, I would hope we have someone a bit more mobile lined up though. And of course someone class to go in the first team i.e. ADEBAYOR.
