pienaar officially gone? thought there was a swap deal in there somewhere. jelavich, baines, rodwell etc... guess Levy's too busy ringing that bell.

I'm not sure whether thats sarcastic or not! If he was the 9th best player in the world then obviously we'd want him but based on last 12-24 months form, is he in the top 30 best players globally? top 50?

Not trying to be sarcastic, just saying it straight as it is. We're not willing to sign the 9th highest paid player in the world.
And as you say he's not as good as he used to be, which makes it even more unlikely.

Aston Villa right back Alan Hutton is reportedly in discussions with Stoke City

A match made in, uhmm, heaven?

Why is Levy ringing the bell?

I'm sure it was nice for him but perhaps there are other ways he could have spent a coupla hours

Unless he is posturing as daddy cash sacks to lure investors and naming rights?

It was a publicity engagement to promote the game between Spurs and Red Bulls and also to promote Under Armour.

How many more signings do you think we'll make? I'm thinking three - CM, winger/wide forward and a striker. In a perfect window I'd want a keeper and another striker(replacing Defoe) as well.
I'd think only ade left to go. Maybe a few opportunistic loan deals at the very end, but don't think the club will sell Defoe given his going thru another personal tragedy, and we do have a lot of midfielders, we could still start with 4-2-3-1 easily with ade back . Actually I'd prefer that and easing into 4-3-3 when we've gone ahead early in the game, just to be sure.

Latest Carroll saga news is if he joins us on loan, and West Ham stay up. Carroll will be earning 100k a week, he's currently on 80k

So according to wednesdays rags, Levy has rejected either a £36m or £38m offer (with £30m paid upfront and the rest in installments) for Modric, because he wont budge on his £40m valuation.

Have to say; Levy is a very brave man. This soap opera now threatens to interrupt our start to the season just like last season.

I would accept RMs offer right away. £35m was my valuation on Modric from the start and the money could kick-start our own spending plans.

If they're willing to pay that much, they shouldn't have a problem coming up with the rest.

Demba Ba's £7 million release clause has now expired. It will take £15 million to get him now.
