is it worth remembering that Levy has had some family problems recently (mother dying ? wife ill ??) and has probably been a little sidetracked with that ? (re the last few pages discussing the slow activity on the transfer front) - we seemed to be pretty swift in he market before all this stuff became open knowledge - maybe things will start to pick up again in due course

Levy's mum died before Redknapp was sacked and before we signed Sig and Verts. The rumour about his wife appears unsubstantiated.
I think the delay in selling Modric and deadwood (Pienaar, Defoe, Bentley, Jenas, Gio etc) has stalled our incomings. We can go out a splash big on Moutinho till the Modric money is in the bank etc.

You said strikers then you are saying we will bring one. I would be ok with one just about but lets be honest we really do need two. Ade is ok but he is known to get less motivated as the season drags on - last year his motivation was that he needed a new club so was in the shop window. This year he would have no pressure or competition to motivate him so need two to compete.

I think Ade has always been in the bag. We do though also need a back-up Ade though before 1 September.
If we don't replace Modric immediately however, we'll become as poor as England have been post-Scholes. I'd rather play without a forward (Spain style) than without a ball retainer.

Any idea what? Can't be that serious you'd guess if Levy has been hanging out with the squad in America for the last week.
Mrs Levy works for the club IIRC (actually pre-dates ENIC's ownership as an employee).
The general gist of the ITK is that she's in Florida and is not well enough to travel. Levy considering a break once the season starts to spend more time there.
