I've been thinking.... Say Ade costs us £5m and is on £160k a week on a 5 year contract, that will cost us £46.5m over the course of the contract and everyone thinks we have a good deal. If we spend £25m on a striker on say £80k a week, that will cost us £45.8m

Point is, we can spend more on a striker with less wages which in the long run would most likely cost us less, which wouldnt bust our wage structure and wouldnt have anyone else knocking on Levy's door for a wage rise.

I think this is exactly why the deal has not been finalised...obviously it's there to be done if we want to, but there's no doubt in my mind that AVB is weighing his options...

I think we need to rethink our relationship with Internacional after this

What kind of relationship do people think we have with them? As far as I know, it's one of economic benefit only. Feel free to show me a report otherwise saying anything about playing staff at either club.

Fans expecting us to get their players on the cheap need to get their head out of the clouds

'Sandro'

Internacional want crazy fees. Well done to them. We won't pay them. Well done to us. For every Oscar, there's a Willian; a different option now likely to come cheaper due to the end of Chelsea's interest in him. We should be pursuing those players, not trying to compete with Chelsea's squillions. We don't have the firepower or the moral bankruptcy to do that.

Exactly. Its not as if we've signed something which entitles us to a discount on their players and even if you have a 'first option' on players, its still only valid if oyu meet their asking price and can then agree terms with the player. So really it doesnt count for much in terms of signing first team players

I know people will say that we got Sandro for what now appears cheap however he's not your typical flashy brazilian attacking type player and therefore he was somewhat less in demand by other teams.

Exactly. And hopefully chelsea are now done in terms of signings, particularly in midfield, as its tough to see how they'll keep their whole squad happy as it is. Maybe they'll go for another CF though....

they also want Willian and Moses

they are not done yet

could it be Levy is delaying signing Ade in order to save on the wages

the saving from signing him on Aug15th compared to lets say July 15th is around 500k if he is on 110-130k a week

every penny counts

Spurvert ‏@spurvert
Moutinho deal isn't entirely depdendent on Modric leaving to open up funds. It's the fee Porto want for him as I've said from the go #THFC

Hoping Ade will be sorted soon. Expect a bid for Willian and Damiao in the coming weeks. Moutinho seems to be slipping away #THFC
