The article says that according to the English paper The Daily Mail Oscar is close to leaving Inter, who have out bid Tottenham with a 25 million pound as opposed to 18 million pound bid. However the president of Inter has denied the story and confirmed to the paper that Inter have not received any official interest in Oscar, absolutely nothing from any club. It also talks about Inter recently agreeing compensation with Sao Paulo over Oscar and his recent performance. It then talks about the player revealing some informal interest from Tottenham lodged with his agent but that he has also spoken of interest by other clubs. It reiterates no official interest has been registered by any club.

Just as an aside to the above I think we will start to see fewer and fewer Brazilian players leave Brazil for Europe. The Brazilian economy is absolutely booming, eating Europe alive. There has been some ridiculous business deals taking place over there in the last year or two and Rio has become a major international commercial insurance hub to rival London. Brazilian clubs have started to see massive sponsorship and TV rights deals as Brazilians get richer and move out of the slums their massive population and appetite for football comes into play. The sponsors are also willing to pick up the tab for expensive signings and you have seen an increasing disinclination by Brazilian talent to leave for Europe - they can make as much money in brazil now and don't want to live so far from home. Neymar and Ganso have been around for a few years now and 5 years ago would be in Europe by now. They're not and neither are likely to come over any time soon. I also think Brazilian clubs will start taking the cream of s. American talent and may even start taking European players over there

Oh and to clarify the relationship we have with Inter we don't have first pick of their players. It is not a feeder club arrangement. What we have is a partnership where training ideas and resources are shared. Inter can send some of their young players to us to gain experience and we can use inter to access the south american Market. They share scouting reports with us. While we don't have first option on their players we have an advantage in that we have a great relationship with the club and will be aware of the best talent coming through their youth system before any other European club. However signing these players are difficult - Inter areva rich club, they don't need our or any other clubs money and Oscar and damiao have both stated they are happy to stay

Carvalho as coach-player you'd assume (as the article hints at). Possibly assistant manager?

During the second half of last season he spent most of it injured or on the bench. So I do not see the point of him being part of our 25 man squad when we have Gallas, Caulker, Vertanghan, Kaboul and Dawson. As a defender he is not an upgrade on Gallas so we do not need him as part of our playing staff. And if he is to be part of our coaching staff then no way should he be part of of the Modric deal

Not sure why we'd need Carvahlo when we've already got King who could be a great player-coach.

Based on what evidence?

Either in terms of his coaching ability or his desire to be a coach.

King is one of my all time favourite players at Spurs but I'm not convinced I ever saw anything in him which screamed out he would be a coach when he finished.

Doesn't mean Carvahlo would be either but he always struck me as having more nous, a more cynical understanding of the necessities of the game - which isn't necessarily an admirable trait.

No? 4th top scorer in prem last season plus a shed load of assists... Tell me where we can sign a proven prem player for less

We do not need to buy a proven prem player. Limiting ourselves to a player proven in this league narrows our options. Cisse at Saudi Sportswashing Machine was not proven, nor Aguero at City or Everton's striker they got in Jan. If we looked around the world their are strikers available that we could get for less wages.

I am not against us signing Ade, I just think if we are playing a player 110, 000 pounds a week he should be bordering on world class which Ade is not. More importantly we need another striker to keep Ade on his toes. Ideally a player that can play with him and in place of him. Remember Nations Cup this season

Remember Berbatov was not a proven prem player when we signed him, further proof we do not need to go for just proven prem players. A good scouting network is what is needed at Spurs

Wouldn't surprise me at all if these Oscar to Chelsea rumours were encouraged by Chelsea so that they can then go to Levy and say, "okay....we'll leave Oscar to you if you agree to sell us Modric".

Or is that too far fetched? Too Machiavellian?

It might just because i don't really know much if anything about this Oscar bloke, but I'd be perfectly happy if Chelsea buy him, we sell Modric to Real and then we buy Moutinho.

Oscar could be potentially twice the player Modric is so I'd be delighted if this is true

Oscar has potential, but there are many Brazilians that have come over with similar potential and not really set the world alight. Robinho and Diego were both better in the Brazilian league at the same age than Oscar is now, but neither forged great careers in Europe.

The best Brazilian players are the ones that mix their natural technique and flair with brute force. I think we got the best prospect to come out of Inter in Sandro. Oscar would be a risk, but is extremely talented. Damiao would be well suited to English football and could be a good buy, but both Oscar and Damiao would be very expensive given the risk.

Sky Sports @SkySports

Internacional have denied receiving any offers for Oscar, but have not ruled out a move away for the player.

Lequipe are reporting this morning in this newspapers that Lloris is considering us and has told Lyon to carry on the negociations with us. Hes open to a move.
They are also reporting that the two clubs have yet to agree a fee, we have offered 15m euros, and they want 20m euro.

This one shouldnt drag on for too long as Lyon have always said that if by the 15th of July, he was still there, then he`ll stay with them.
