Because when he eventually gets a game he's been sitting on the bench for the previous 3 months. It's a vicious cycle, don't play, get a chance, look rusty, fans proclaim how crap he is, back on the bench. Even worse when you're on the bench all the time, come on against Bolton, score the winner, play the next game away to Sunderland and score another winner. The following game away to AC Milan you're dropped for Pienaar who had been here for about 5 minutes. Excellent man management by Harry, definitely a good way to keep the squad players motivated.

That was a mostly tactical change, i would have hoped Harry might have taken Kranjcar aside and told him that.. but who knows?

Whether it's tactical or not, what does it say to the squad players that when they get their chance they'll be dropped as soon as one of Harry's favs come back regardless of how well they perform? I'd certainly lose any motivation to play well, even then I think Kranjcar has performed admirably.

Just face it, Harry doesn't do squads.

The change shouldn't say anything, as long as Harry talks to the players and returns kranjcar to the team for the game after Milan...

I can agree though, Harry is not great at squad management.. I'm trying to say what he should do, rather then what he does..

If always felt that Kranjcar is the most natural replacement/cover to VDV in the squad. And in some respects his natural lack of mobility would work better for the shape of the team in that he would stay forward in support of the striker more...

Agree. Should have always been default replacement for Rafa at #10, rather than having to switch to 4-4-2 and get turned over.

Harry actually gave him a go in the attacking role and Niko fell well short of what was needed. Shame as I actually thought he could naturally develop into that role as well. Hey ho.

We can reveal that Ledley King and #THFC are still negotiating over new contract, despite his name being included on released player list.

One shot?

He's been played in a 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 and pretty much looked out of depth each time. Presumably Harry lets him play the role in practice before commiting him to a pitch so it must just not work for him. I was pretty much one of the first to call for Niko to be played there and I feel I've been well proven wrong.

Honestly mate I dont recall him getting a real chance there, the odd go in a mish mash side perhaps but not a proper shot. That may just be my memory though.

With the amount of time VDV has spent injured, I would have liked to see Kranjcar get a more regular go before getting written off.

If he plays one game a season he'll still make more than me in a full year. Who knows if he can coach, and Mabbutt is a geniune Spurs legend and truly nice guy. I'd rather Gary keeps that role than one that gets thrown our of every other nightclub.

have you ever thought that the constant injury problems, not being able to do the thing he loves most, could have contributed to him turning to drink? Of course its embarrassing to see the state he gets into, but I dont see him as a ****y, im a rich fcuking footballer who couldnt give a toss type, like lots of players
