I fear this too.However to go into the new season with Kane as 3rd choice is lunacy. I cant belive though that we would be "linked" with so many strikers and now suddenly (just because we cant get them) Defoe is deemed good enough...which tells me there should be another- even a loan- particularly if VDV is going.

Re defoe - he is as raw as the day he first joined us and redknapp has not improved his movement or all round play...I am more confident that AVB will improve him technically albeit at 29 these things are harder
