Son Heung-Min

Maybe the quick transitioning of the report from Wolfsburg being "interested" in Son to being "in advanced talks" means it's simply clickbait....after all i'm sure we could be listed as being "interested" in signing Griezmann after all...

everyone was shocked at Son being left out of the squad at the weekend. I think now we know why, looks like weve decided to cut our losses and sell. Il be very surprised if he is still at Spurs on 1st Sept

Yeah, but could it just be that Wolfburg just simply want to buy Son, as opposed to we are considering a sale?

id take the 17 mill for Son and spend 10 mill of it on this guy. One year left on his Lyon contract, wants to join a club playing European football, could be the new Riyad Mahrez

And when he has an injury and takes a year to settle, you'd flog him next season and try the next moneyball name?

Or we could have patience and see the fruits when players settle and receiving a full induction to our system, like with Lamela

Mentioned this in the Georges-Kevin thread but I think what we're seeing with Poch is he is very willing to give young players a chance to perform. They will get more minutes here than anywhere else, but will be held to the standards of more experienced players and coasting will not be allowed. Some, like Kane, Dier, and Alli will step up and deserve it. Others, like N'Jie, Townsend and potentially Son, may be on the way out no matter how harsh it looks. Poch sees this guys train every day and may think they are good guys and decent players, but if they can't perform at the top level, he's going to let them go to try with guys who can. Players like Dier have proved that it is possible, it's about mentality as much as anything.

We haven't really got time to wait to see if players will perform in 3 years. We want to be challenging the top clubs by buying smarter. We will give young players more opportunity to make a name for themselves than anywhere else, but they will need to earn that spot they are being trusted with. If not, they will be out. The alternative is the Wenger approach, with too much trust shown in players with average mentalities, who only perform when the pressure is off. That's not what we need.

with Son he has an injury that could continue to cause him problems on a constant basis. Plus he has this national service threat hanging over him.

Also Poch has shown he is not afraid in bombing out players if he sees no future for them. He wont hang onto every player thinking they can all get familiar with the system and do a Lamela. Pritchard has gone, Townsend too, Bentaleb is on his way out as is Njie.

No, Plantar Fasciitis only lasts 6-9 months. He should be clear of it now.

I think we should wait to see what ACTUALLY happens in terms of transfers in or out before we make sweeping conclusions like this.
Remember a lot of this is based on clickbait anyway.
