Son Heung-Min

Son is a star.

If he has fully recovered from his injury, he will be a big player for us this season. He is a big personality and well liked in the dressing room. We need more characters like this to help our young team. Son came up with some key goals and assists last year. He is better by far than many of the alternatives mooted.

On another subject, has anyone noticed how he plays well with Eriksen? Often players try to pass to players they like
. I have noticed this with Kane and Alli, Eriksen and Son; and though early days, HK and VJ.......while Eriksen seems to hardly ever pass to Lamela even if a simple pass is on.

everyone was shocked at Son being left out of the squad at the weekend. I think now we know why, looks like weve decided to cut our losses and sell. Il be very surprised if he is still at Spurs on 1st Sept

Not so sure about that. He just returned from the Olympics and Poch has spoken clearly of the need to rest players properly/how close-season has been (again) disruptive. Add that to his foot issue and I think he is easing him back slowly...

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that about eriksen and his passing preferences.
Lamella and janssen seemed to have formed a good understanding in the friendlies but not seen much evidence in the league.

Although I really like Son, happy to go with Poch. Does make me concerned about our lack of options though - the bench on the weekend was quite weak.

Surprised as I thought there was a real player in Son with a good attitude, but that he was hampered by injury last season. Maybe the injury is longer term or the army business is playing a part?

I think we should wait to see what ACTUALLY happens in terms of transfers in or out before we make sweeping conclusions like this.
Remember a lot of this is based on clickbait anyway.
Exactly! I think we would be interested in signing a whole lot of players, including Messi and Bale. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen or that the current club wants to get rid!

No doubt in my mind Son is going to be quality when he eventually gets a run of games. I don't believe Poch would want to get rid of him and I certainly don't buy that he would want rid based on the Saudi Sportswashing Machine performance?! I remember his top finishing vs Leicester in the FA Cup, that is what he is capable of....

I thought the paper story was just a load of nonsense. There is nothing tangible to it and I expect Poch to keep him so we can see the progress he has made over a year.

Whose everyone? I don't know a single person on here or in the real world who expected him to be involved in that squad! Might you be making that up a bit to take a dig / put a negative slant at a Spurs signing by any chance?!

lamela passes wells to everyone. tries the hard hollywood stuff too much sometimes.
unfortunately not many pass to lamela even though he often gets into good positions.

Indeed, I think indianspur has seen all those folks in Rio and got jealous. He's chasing after the gold medal this year for biggest WUM

from the Crystal Palace thread

--------------------------Lloris/Vorm
---Trippier---------Alder-----------Verts-------Davies/Rose
---------------------Wanyama----Winks
---Lamela---------------Mason-------------Eriksen
--------------------------Janssen
Subs: McGee, Wimmer, 2CV, KWP, Onomah, Njie, Son

Surely we dont need 2 DMs at home to Palace

Lloris
Walker-Alderweireld-Vertonghen-Rose
Son-Dier-Eriksen-Lamela
Kane-Janssen
Subs. Vorm,Tripper,Davies,Mason,Wanyama,Alli, Harrison

If Kane and Janssen both start would like to see Son and N'jie on the bench.

With Son back and on the bench, we will be fine.

No Chadli, no Son. Very week looking bench. Not exactly what you would call game changers there!

Yep. I don't see that we need Carroll, Mason and Alli. Could have had Son instead of one of them. Onomah is a complete non-entity at the moment - has looked a long way from being ready for the PL would benefit more from a Championship loan

considering very few members posted on the Crystal Palace thread id say thats quite a few who either thought Son would be involved or were surprised when they found out he wasnt.

Son was available for selection, Poch said so, but obviously decided against it. So at some point Poch must have considered Son?????

so before you accuse someone of making stuff up, maybe you yourself should do a bit of digging to justify whatever is in your head. Yes i was wrong to use the term "everyone", and yes i wouldnt mind if we sell Son in this window, but i dont need to go looking for excuses to put a "negative slant" on a Spurs signing. It was simply an opinion, just speaking aloud and im probably completely wide off the mark. Shoot me

Just having a laugh most of the time though

So that's 5 people then and 4 of those just had him on the bench! Hardly everyone expressing shock that he wasn't in the squad is it?! Seems pretty logical that he wouldn't be in that squad considering he's just flown back from a tournament, but maybe that's just me? If he's not involved in this weeks squad though, then we can talk!

I'm sure you don't need to go looking for excuses to put a negative slant on Spurs, it seems to come very naturally!

:p

just highlighting there is a middle ground between my "everyone" and your "not a single person on here"

If there is something i dont like relating to Spurs, I say it. Yes it comes naturally and just like you probably think im negative all the time whilst i believe im negative some of the time, im sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle
