Son Heung-Min

The spirit of the rule is that you might select a couple of 24 YOs who have just missed the cut-off (like Son), rather than random veterans.

Not if they're like us us Brits and call third rate randoms up

quick search says it's 21 months for Army, 23 for Navy and 24 for Airforce. I don't know how it's decided which you serve.

I also remember reading you can play for the armys football team during that time so perhaps we could loan him to the armys team for two seasons? Not that I think we'd be keen on that.

Will also be hard for him to choose when to do it. At the moment he's clearly a work in progress and if he was to do it too soon he'd miss some valuable development time. Leave it till he's 28 and chances are that he'll miss his peak.

Either way this will defiantly have a negative impact on his career.

Daniel says no - we'll sell him to the Army team and they can loan him to us so he can do this military service in an overseas posting.

Not sure why they can't make exceptions for sportsmen/women and allow them to pospone it until their 30's.

Wow, so maybe the ITK talk of Poch being livid after the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game with one or two and prepared to get rid (including Son) was true...

Would people be gutted if he left?
I must say, i think i'd be harsh (unless any money received is being put to buy Bale back lol)

He always looked so happy, but sometimes looking concerned & tired from his exertions might have been better.

It was said his foot condition would effect him for 9-12 months. I think we need to see fit Son before deciding on him.

Agreed. I wonder, though, whether the military service obligation is a factor that makes us think we might want to transfer him now before this leads to his value going down..

If Poch chooses to sell him i would presume there was a good reason and that an alternative can/will be brought in.

Never question the Poch. Unless it relates to Carroll & Mason!
