You know how players randomly sprint to go and take corners, that's all to try and improve their data like that, which the bras are collecting.

Unfortunately 2 of our front 5 were out injured yet again this season. Doesn’t leave us much option but to play him.
There's plenty of options. He was originally playing while Kulu sat on the bench. Richy-Kane-Kulu would be my first choice if playing 3 up front.
Can also stick Perisic on either side of the front 3. Never thought I'd say it but I'd probably be happier to see Moura start at this stage.
There's also the option of 352. Nothing forcing Conte to stick with Son.

If we play 3-4-3, which we do, then having 2 of your front 5 injured all season means you don’t have an option I’m afraid. Think it was 1 game where Kulu was benched wasn’t it? Not like it’s been all season.
If you want to change formation, then yes, the options to drop Son do open up,. a bit. Conte’s shown very little desire to do that though.

As long as we don't have our full complement to call upon. We only have four forwards in Conte's eyes - Lucas and Gil are nonentities for various reasons.
One of Richy and Kulu has always been injured or unavailable, so Sonny has always played, and has always looked crap. The one game we could bench him, he came on and looked great.
We need one more forward in Jan, someone Conte trusts. Then we'll see Sonny starting less.
With Son being that poor we might as well either try one of the others or switch to 352. He's contributed nothing outside the one game as sub.
It used to be Moura were attacks went to die, Son has now taken over that role.

What others though? Moura has been out all season and Richarlson and Kulu have also been out dovetailing. Barring one or two fleeting occasions we only seem to ever have 3 strikers fit and they all start.
I’m not defending Son, just saying there aren’t many, if any (in a 3-4-3) alternatives.

For 3-5-2, we don't have a forward-thinking midfielder - Hojbjerg is having a great season as box-to-box midfielder, but we need a player more focused on attacking, or it just looks muddled eith Biss, Bentancur and Hojbjerg all in there.
It's why I think the talk of another CM has legs, personally. Because it gives us the ability to play 3-5-2.
Play Perisic or Gil in a 343.
PEH is far from having a great season, been poor to average in most games. Popping up with a few goals has been his only saving grace.
Even today he let a player run off him for the first goal and then gets a goal to kinda make amends.
Bentancur or Bissouma can play further forward or again play Gil or Perisic behind the two strikers. There are options that get Son out of the team, maybe not ideal but having Son in the team at the moment is far from ideal. I really do hope he comes good again but I'm starting to feel that he is in a permanent decline.
