Son Heung-Min

I just hope he stays at home during the international break. Would hate to have him pick up something again.

He will almost certainly go I think. Players get called up even if not fully fit and if he's ready to start getting minutes for us again the national team will see him as fit enough to at least join up with them...

Was great to see him back against Anderlecht. Despite the inevitable rustiness, he opened up the Anderlecht defence with probably the pass of the match late on that ultimately led to Dembele's winner, sending from out wide just inside their half a delicious long, diagonal looping ball over the top of the Anderlecht defence and sweetly into the path of Onomah.

Fervently hope he's fit enough to start against the Gooners, his liveliness, intelligence and goal threat supporting Kane around the box could be all the difference.

Amazing how quickly people seem to forget what a positive impact Son had for us before his injury. I understand he got two assists for his country yesterday. I think he will be soon challenging Lamela for his spot. Lamela has done well recently with fantastic workrate and pressing but for me still needs to link up better. He doesn't always play the right ball and needs to be sharpen this aspect of his game or Son will be breathing down his neck as soon as he is fully fit.

It was with Sons introduction to the team we started winning. Before he came in we had a defeat and a coupple of draws. Now I'm not saying it was all his doing that we suddenly turner the corner and started winning, but he certainly had a positive impact on our team.

The biggest thing for me is that he offers something different to the other attackers, manily Lamella and Dembele AS i consider Eriksen pretty much undropable. His pace, directness and good shooting ability dets him apart, the other are more cumbersome and plays it more safe, witch helps in a game like at the emirates where you're constantly wrestling for controll, but against more defensive teams he'll be chosen over Dembele imo.

I think it will be Lamela he will replace not Dembele. Son, Lamela and Eriksen behind Kane are too weak as a trio IMO and would be bullied by some teams like Stoke, Wet Spam and Palace for example.

Tottenham Hotspur's returning injury victim Heung-min Son bags two assists in impressive South Korea cameo

Two of Tottenham's first team players who have played very little football because of injury recently were called up to international duty this week.

Firstly there was Nabil Bentaleb. Without a game since August he was called up the Algeria national team for upcoming games with Tanzania.

Then there was summer signing Heung-min Son. The South Korean was called up for action by the Taeguk Warriors but only returned to injury against Arsenal recently, before setting off on a lengthy round-trip with his country.

But judging by the first game in the South Korean international break Tottenham need not worry. In fact, it looks like it could do him some good.

He came on in the 67th minute of a win against lowly Myanmar in Suwon. He came on with the score at 2-0 and Son took the game by the scruff of the neck.

He bagged two assists in an excellent cameo.

Firstly he swung in a delightful free-kick which was headed in by defender Hyun-soo Jang, who atoned for a first-half penalty miss. He then played a wonderful one-two with midfielder Tae-hee Nam who then slotted home for 4-0.

Hopefully the run out and performance will help him improve his match fitness and confidence ahead of a return to London, after South Korea take on Laos on Tuesday.

Son continue to be impressive for South Korea. He will need to continue that form for us against West Ham, especially with Lamela suspended.

I think that he is more likely to be played centrally or on the left than on the right. I think it would be a mistake though to start talking about Player A vs Player B. We have enough games to give everyone ample opportunities. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had several on form players competing for places in the side and were able to pick and choose depending on the opposition?

Do you still think that all Asian players have a weak mentality?

I'm not really interested in his international career at the moment as he is playing against Sunday league teams. More interested in how he does for us. When they are in the major competitions, playing against big teams, I will then take note.

Agreed that Son seems a better fit on the left than the right, and seems to be where Poch has played him so far (in addition to up front).

I agree that competition is a great thing and we need it. We also need to be able to look to our bench and see at least somewhat in form attacking players ready to come on and make an impact. Too many times we've looked to our bench for an attacking impact and our options have been Townsend and... not much else.
